Peavey Wolfgang Project - need help with Floyd Trem Posts!
Hey guys,
I'm starting a new project with a USA Wolfgang Special body and neck (parts mutt). I bought this black Peavey branded Floyd from a seller in Meridian, MS who supposedly got it straight from Peavey. It only came with the main unit (no posts, or claw, etc). Does anyone know the origin of these black tremolo units, or what other Peavey model they came on? It's obviously not a Wolfgang specific trem...but I thought it would be cool on this project. The problem I'm having is locating the tremolo posts...they are obviously smaller than a regular Floyd unit. The bushings appear to be installed in this body but I can't find any information on the correct sized posts that these tremolos require. Does anyone know where I can find a set...are they made by Gotoh?
BTW, the body will be re-finished in a similar black/cherry burst so the black hardware seemed like a better option than chrome to my eyes.
Thanks!
Brian

I don't have an answer for you, but IIRC the Peavey Floyds were made by Ping. This thread has some pics comparing posts. You'll also see the Ping logo on one of the Floyd pics - I think that can be found on the bottom or brass block of the Peavey Floyd. Hopefully knowing this helps on your search.

This is actually very helpful. I recognize that small engraved symbol on the pic in that thread, because it's also on the brass block of my trem! So, it must be a Ping made version then....but he also describes the same issue which is how they require a smaller post. Good to know. Thanks!

So on a drive to Tucson, my girlfriend and I listened to first 4 episodes of Rob Reiner's podcast re: JFK assassination. Listened to #5 yesterday. I guess there's another season to be released...
