Considering 13 of the last 14 National Champs have come from the SEC and ACC, might as well just let Bama play Georgia and Clemson play UNC and let the two winners play it out for the title.

Why can’t everyone just move their seasons to January? I mean half the schools aren’t playing so just everyone move to January and go from there. What is the big issue? There’s a pandemic going on. Duh. Wait until January and play football season. It’s not the end of the world.

The only worry would be having two college seasons in one calendar year, but I think they can alter practice schedules to make that it more attractive.

Let's say the Power 5 remains split on playing, they are going to have two different college seasons? Seems silly.

My son was funny about it when he found out the Big 10 and PAC 12 shut it down. "Good, if I can't play, I don't want anyone else to either!"

Dude. Those northern schools....It gets fucking cold there in Jan, Feb, early march type shit. I'd still love to watch it though. ND in January...fuck yeah. Snow n shit. Shit man, here in Texas the shit can get cold as fuck that time of year. Hook em! Out.

I honestly didn’t think about the weather too much but football is a cold-weather sport. Maybe not so anymore because of the way the game has changed, but it used to be.

They can start practice in Feb indoors. Start the season March 1st. Reg season March April May. Bowl games in June. Sure you'll be competing with basketball but not really. You can do both. And quite frankly, I'll be surprised if college basketball is ready to go in November.

Michigan High School football made the decision to postpone to Spring. Meanwhile states like Indiana they're having scrimmages with players wearing masks on the sidelines.

It's crazy. There's a f'n pandemic where long term health issues could result. Yeah, it sucks if you're a kid and that's what you do or if you're one of the rare special ones who will be able to go on and make money at it. But JFC people need to get a grip. There are more important things. There's no reason to rush any of this. And if schools have to put all sports on hiatus for a year, they'll survive and we'll survive. God forbid these schools have to dip into their 8 or 9 figure reserves or endowments to get by for a year. Even the D2 schools can do it.

You will have a hundred or so of top players NOT play in the spring because they will prep fir the nfl combine and engage in the draft process. That will be wxtra important for those kids because the other 3 conferences players competing for draft position will have new tape from the fall to help them. If you are top player draft eligible you are unlikely to play in the spring

One of our neighbors is out of town so my wife and I are feeding their dogs. Walking to their house last night, it's just a big fucking block party. No masks, no social distancing, just a bunch of drunk as fuck adults acting like idiots.

They know they aren't supposed to be doing it, and they do it anyway.

Yes this isn't on politicians. They can only do so much and believe me pushing a mask mandate doesn't change what happens inside ones home or your friends home.

Also with college football you have money involved along with return on investment with a season. For example, Ohio State is very adamant on wanting to play this year. They have a great team in line and could compete for a championship. They obviously voted no on cancelling the season. They could go and play outside but will face a 50 million dollar fine from the Big 10. Obviously for their players and coaches, it would benefit them playing and having a great year. Recruitment will be better. Plus for the players they can improve their draft stock with game tape. OSU is one of the schools the NFL does like to pull from so it makes sense. However no season means a year of tape is removed. So if you were injured last year and you have one year of eligibility left what do you do? Not saying these programs don't care about the health of the players but there is a bit more on the line and even the players are ok with it. (based on the tweets I have seen from OSU players)

This likely is true for the powerhouses but if you are Indiana, what does it matter? You simply win by not playing. You can actually look out for the true health of the player. You don't have 20 players who may get drafted in the next two years. Maybe a few but not a quarter of your team. You won't be competing for a conference title and it will have zero effect on your recruitment good or bad. You will always lose out to the power teams. You simply field a team but its not as big of a deal. You will never be OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin or Penn State. if anything a no vote might help you a bit.

I don't know what the right answer is but I do feel very bad for these players because they train their entire lives to get to this level and people can simply decide on their fate by a yes or no vote. I don't think there is a right answer but I do think that other things besides Covid are at play.
