And here's why the liberals should lose big. You can't spend years saying 80% of Canadians are better off financially with the carbon tax and then cut it and claim it'll put more money in your pocket.

I don't agree with the decision to get rid of the carbon tax. I like those rebate checks that we get. But Carney said it was unpopular with the Canadian people, so he has to listen to what Canadian citizens want.

Plus it gives Pierre a lot less ammo to attack the Liberals. His main campaign slogan was AXE THE TAX! That he said over and over and over. It seems Pierre is in trouble.
Right Now you're reading my post!

But then don't try to say it's to put money in people's pockets. There's a thousand clips of liberal cabinet ministers saying the exact opposite. You're walking into an uppercut.

It should. However, the Conservatives have been known to find a way to step on every rake possible during the run-ups to an election. It's a real skill.

I'll likely be voting Conservative unless their local candidate here is terrible. Our current MP (liberal) is a good man by all accounts (he has a daughter playing in the same softball league as my girls), but his party does not deserve another term. The reset to the middle is a few years late imo.

Here’s to hoping that the US-Canada relationship has taken the first step at being mended.

The submarine's arrival is actually related to Canada's C$60 billion ($42 billion) plan to modernise its submarine fleet.

The FS Tourville, a French Navy Suffren-class submarine, is equipped with advanced weaponry and designed for long-duration missions, including intelligence gathering.

The visit aims to showcase French expertise and strengthen defence cooperation between France and Canada, particularly in navigating icy northern waters.

Canada plans to put between six and 12 new submarines into service, with the first replacement to be delivered by 2035, and the French Naval Group is vying for the contract

Judging by history, there’s no such thing as French intelligence gathering.

From what I’ve heard from Annie Jacobson’s interviews, enemy subs can get and have routinely gotten within 100 miles of the coastal US and if a strike was ordered, the reaction time would be 8-10 minutes.

As opposed to the approx 30 minute response time if a ICBM was launched from NK or Russia.

And by her accounts and interviews with ex-STRATCOM and Government personnel there is no defensive interception capabilities.

The next decision would be how many nukes the US was going to launch in retaliation.

    Wild fascinating stuff.

Mitch, never underestimate the capability to kill people. I’m sure DD could chime in if he wanted to be waterboarded, but I have a family member that is a commander in the US navy. You will die. And within 9 minutes if you attack the US.

Believe me or not. Doesn’t really matter who does it. There is so much shit you don’t know. But I’d trust the US over anyone else.

All I’ll say, is space isn’t exactly a vapid hole.
