Very lackluster start to the campaign. Still don't believe any of these poll numbers. Liberal support seems really weak among people I speak to.

There are plenty of Americans (and a small segment of cuckold Canadians) who follow Trump’s lead and believe every word he says, Brook.

And they think all we import is maple syrup and hockey players. And we have no military (per Joe Rogan) even though our soldiers died in Afghanistan fighting the War on Terror. And we are just a lame duck country per the POTUS. Not verbatim but that’s basically what he has said.

It wasn’t a stupid comment from a Canadian perspective. We need more voices in the press echoing exactly what he said.

Carney is the best candidate to handle this complex relationship IMO. He's sharp as a tack.

This is one of those “feel good” comments that don’t do much good. Americans don’t see you as the enemy, no matter what anyone says. I will say that you guys booing our anthem did create an “oh, F you then” feeling towards the situation. This was being looked at as a disagreement at first.

It was a comment that supported an ally. I can’t see how anybody would categorize what he said as a negative.

I’m not for booing anthems but what the fuck did Americans expect? Your POTUS had been calling us the 51st State for a month and saying we aren’t a viable nation on the back of a trade deal he signed and said was “the best ever”.

And if the roles and power structures were reversed, you’d be damned sure our anthem would be booed if our leader was questioning the US’ sovereignty and calling the PM the 51st Governor.

What you deem a disagreement, we deem a betrayal. The word and signature of the American government is effectively garbage at this point up here, and for good reason. While I disagree with the booing, it is a reaction to a much larger show of disrespect from your elected leaders. I hope most Americans understand this.

Not sure what Lutnick is being paid, but it's not enough. Apparently, he's working the phones nonstop, trying to explain that cars made in Canada with majority American parts (that's most of them), will have little, if any, tariffs.

Car makers are getting plenty annoyed with the mess that captain chaos is creating. So it seems that Lutnick explained the auto plan - tariff cars not made with US parts during his meeting, only to have Trump go off script, again. Trump has asked for a call with the PM tomorrow. I'm guessing/hoping to clear the air.
