Regardless where he got the info, he’s not wrong. Unless you’re encouraging people to just make up facts in their head, which I don’t think you meant.

If I was PM I would simply have told the POTUS, “We are implementing immediate retaliatory tariffs on select American goods like liquor and produce. The largest liquor wholesaler in the World will pull all American made alcohol from their shelves and they will restrict the sale of American made alcohol at restaurants and bars.

If the tariffs stay on for more than 72 hours we will turn off the crude taps.

Oh, and if they stay on longer than a week we will begin shutting off the power to your grids on the North Eastern seaboard. And it’s February, by the way. Let me know, Mr. President. ”

Mitch, Justin knows who butters his bread. He may be a lot of things but totally inept and stupid is not one of them

So I suppose you are correct that he could do that. Wouldn’t recommend it. In fact, I don’t know what the fuck he’s doing it for. Absolutely no idea what his end game is. But I also know that if your scenario were to happen, it wouldn’t end well for anyone.

Not that I disagree with you. I don’t. But honestly, you can’t win with trump unless he gets his way. He’s a petulant child.

But at least he seems to care about America.

We butter each other’s bread. The main difference is America’s military and obviously that cannot be ignored. To which that will never be pulled off the table because the last thing American wants is Russia/China in their backyard.

So, yes we agree. I have no fucking idea what he truly wants out of this. He might want our natural resources and critical minerals on the cheap and he figures if he can squeeze us economically he might get them.

But he paused the tariffs for a month after less than 24 hours of them being in place. His bluff was called in a major way on a global stage. There’s a reason he paused them and it had zero to do with a fucking Canadian Fentanyl Czar being appointed.

It’s because the retaliatory tariffs and other potential measures we have available to us made them realize maybe this isn’t a fight worth fighting.

Keep turning us into the enemy and whoever our PM is better turn the crude taps off and cut the electricity.

Justin deserves credit for not taking a backwards step and it will certainly help the Liberals’ re-election hopes whenever an election is called.

Nice to see some of the well known high profile Canadians born in Canada who now live in America speaking up for Canada. Wayne Gretzky, Jim Carey, Michael J Fox, Dan Ackroyd, Ryan Reynolds, Neil Young, etc, etc…

I'm sure that nonsense plays well in the border states. I'm pretty sure this guarantees that the next Republican candidate won't win Michigan and Wisconsin again. It's been a universal law of politics and diplomacy that you don't bully your best friend and ally. I'm surprised that some of the MAGA supporters think that their champion can undo centuries of political practice.
