Thumbs up The Mark Carney & Canadian Politics Thread!

I think it's time a thread is made on Trudeau & Canada. Overall I am happy with Trudeau's response to Coronavirus, at least since mid-March. He has done a lot to make sure Canadians can pay their rent in this crisis. I try to watch as much as I can of his daily press conferences. I am glad he started wearing a mask as well.

I am also happy with Doug Ford. He has really shined in this crisis. I like that Doug shows emotion. I find myself agreeing with a lot of his comments. Especially when he got enraged at Trump for stopping the N95 masks from being delivered to Hospitals in Canada. I also liked how he got angry at the gathering at Trinity Park a few days ago, & he asked the people at it to be get tested for Covid-19. He was almost crying when he read the Canadian Military's report at the neglect at a few of the old age homes in Ontario. I hope something is done to fix what is going on in those homes immediately.

Are you suggesting that Canada's leaders are more competent than those in the States? Well, you're right.

Justin has been fine during this. His performance prior as PM has left a lot to be desired. I can say the same about Ford as premier.

    Oh Canada. All Hell Yeah.

Maple Leaf Flag one of the greatest in the entire world.

I too am also a big supporter of Rob Ford.

I've always liked Justin. As for Doug, I agree, I was not a fan of him at all at first. But he's been very good during Covid-19.

Yes, I am curious as well. I just heard today on CBC 75% of Ontario's Covid-19 cases are in the Toronto Area!

I haven't heard anything about Hospice. Here is some more info on Toronto's cases........

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toron...id19-1.5586860

Toronto has a cumulative total of 10,525 cases, an increase of 152 cases since Tuesday. A total of 7,814 people have recovered, an increase of 187 since Tuesday.

A total of 780 people have died of COVID-19.

There are 356 people in hospital with 84 in intensive care units.

The city has had 142 outbreaks in long-term care homes, retirement homes and hospitals.

"We have people in different parts of the city living in very different circumstances."

These are Toronto's hardest-hit neighbourhoods, with their total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases during the crisis:

Glenfield - Jane Heights: 286 cases
West Humber - Clairville: 258 cases
    York University Heights: 250 cases
    Downsview-Roding-CFB: 249 cases
Islington City Centre West: 211 cases
    Woburn: 199 cases
    Rouge: 190 cases
    Weston: 184 cases
Mount Oliver Silverstone Jamestown: 182 cases
    Newtonbrook West: 179 cases
    Black Creek: 171 cases
    Humber Heights Westmount: 165 cases
    South Parkdale: 157 cases
    Malvern: 137 cases
Kingsview Village -The Westway: 131 cases
    Morningside: 127 cases

I love how the city has just made up neighbourhood names that no one really uses.

I think this thread is a great idea! Too often, all we hear about is news south of the border. I've never really been a Justin fan (voted for Stephen Harper in 2015), but I think he's done a good job in this crisis. Also with our Premier, Jason Kenney. I intrinsically dislike him, but I've felt he's done positive things as well. It is nice to see calm, competent leadership here, instead of watching whining and conspiracy theories on Twitter, as is elsewhere. We are all very fortunate to live in this country in the midst of a crisis like this. CA-NA-DA! CA-NA-DA! lol

We are doing better in Alberta. Our cases have been going down steadily, and everyone I've seen is practicing appropriate social distance. I went to a local mall on Monday, and to a pub last night to pick up takeout, and they both have everything running smoothly. Bravo to everyone opening up safely, and let's hope we keep new cases low and under control.
