Simple truth. Bloodsport, Hard Target, Timecop, Above The Law, and Under Seige and a couple others are good dumb action flicks, though.

Nah, I can't stand horror flicks.

I would've put Bobby D vs. Pacino's Montana...but I wanted to include Marlon Brando and I had to choose between Kilgore and Kurtz for Apocalypse Now, and I just dig Duvall too much to pass him in this.

Another side note, my 2nd oldest sister loves, and I mean LOVES, Jean Claude Van Damme. She has ALL of his movies.

I'll never forget watching Under Siege at my parents' house back in the day. When Erika Eleniak came out of the cake topless, my brother-in-law enthusiastically said, "Nice rack!!!" My younger sister was not amused, especially since my mom and dad were watching it with us.

That was a tough one. Went with Bourne. Not sure why, could've went either way for me.

Butch vs Sundance is basically a coin flip.
Axel Foley vs Brigman was tough. But I really love that Brigman character.
Another tough one for me was Jack Torrance vs Quint.

Life isn't fair. This isn't supposed to be easy. There's a shit ton of choices here I'd rather not make.

but that is kinda the fun in these pointless little tourney threads, isn't it.

Bonus points to you for choosing Jack from Midnight Run. A better buddy road movie, is hard to find.

Ah, dammit. That reminds me....I should've put a Planes Trains and Automobiles bracket...Neal Page (Steve Martin) vs. Del Griffith (John Candy). Fuck!

Yep. Mindless 80's 90's action flicks, part of our DNA.

Wasn't it Mike who once said they'd watch Bloodsport in the tour bus on one of the tours back then? I forget...

Bud Brigman is a sorely unfairly overlooked action figure in most rankings on action flicks, IMO.

The Abyss is a kick ass movie. Personally, I think it's one of Cameron's best, certainly better than Titanic and Avatar.

I'm a little shocked to not see a John Wayne or Steve McQueen character.

I initially put in Rooster Cogburn. But I kinda figured some of the kiddies would be dated on him, and would rather see characters like Jack Sparrow or Morpheus and such.

I shoulda put in Papillion, though. I just don't think he woulda ranked too far...

Only one vote so far for Cameron Poe. That's one of those choices that only the creator of the tourney would choose.
Especially when going up against Jules Winfield. A better opponent would have been Vincent Vega. But probably would have got the same results. Jules is one of Tarantino's best characters. And Sam knocked it out of the park.
