Honestly, I think some people voted ln favorites and genre familiarity...not objectively on the best frontman. I am very surprised and confused by some results of the first round...here are my picks and where they are different.
Robert Plant vs. Peter Gabriel - Golden God of course
Geddy Lee vs. Ray Davies - Yeah it's Rush
Roger Daltrey vs. David Bowie - I don't think it's fair to call solo artists frontmen
Ozzy Osbourne vs. Bruce Springsteen - Springsteen objectively, for me.
Paul McCartney vs. Ian Gillan - a Beatle over the long time frontman of Deep Purple? As a musician sure as a front man though....???
Sting vs. James Hetfield - Honestly a toss-up for me
Steven Tyler vs. Don Henley - Drummers aren't really frontmen
Jim Morrison vs. Sammy Hagar - Definitely Sammy. He does a lot more than scream and curse on stage
Mick Jagger vs. Phil Collins - No contest
Ronnie James Dio vs. Steve Perry - Toss-up? Dio kicks ass though

Axl Rose vs. Bono - I'm not a huge U2 fan but I think this depends on your interpretation of "frontman"
David Lee Roth vs. Robin Zander - This is a Van Halen forum
Jimi Hendrix vs. Brian Johnson - I don't think Jimi counts as a frontman.... he's not really fronting a band he is the band to me.
