Yeah, I remember this one. It was awhile ago.

I recall the "restoration" part, hoping they both would blast the band for not putting stuff out.

I love hearing Sammy and Mike talk about anything VH related but I can't stand when Trunk talks all over them! Mike has history with VH that goes back to 1974 and if he starts talking about something VH related, then Trunk should shut up! I hate that because then Mike never answers the question he was going to answer!

He talks all over them because Trunk hates Roth. He shits all over anybody that doesn't play into his bullshit of letting him feel like he's an "insider". Same thing with Paul Stanley. Those guys will go down in history as some of the greatest frontmen in the history of Rock and Roll, have written songs that are ingrained in the lives of 10s of millions of people, but some fat shit with an online radio show who has created absolutely nothing shits all over them. Lol. Fuck you Eddie Trunk

Why Sam and Mike continue to let that idiot use him for publicity is beyond me.

Bang Tango, Danger Danger, Faster Pussycat, Vinnie Vincent, yeah I get it.

Sam and Mike are way beyond Eddie Trunk and his bullshit.

So what sort of hidden nuggets did Mike and Sam share with the listening public?

    He doesn’t hate Roth.

They are both buddies with Trunk and have been since 2004. That could be why he favours them more than Dave.

But I don’t think he has some sort of hatred towards DLR and his era of VH.

I think it is more sucking up to the cool kids paying attention to him. Nothing more, nothing less.

Agreed. Remember that weird interview with Axl Rose a few years back? They sat in a dark warehouse or parking garage, 8 feet apart, and Trunk could only whisper and smile with no interruptions when Axl was rambling. It wasn't that bad, of course, but it shows Trunk would do anything for an interview.

Exactly. Trunk never really started preferring one era of VH over another until Sam gave him the time of day.

If Dave or Edward granted him interviews he'd be slobbering all over them, too.

Eddie Trunk has said repeatedly that the first 4 Van Halen albums hold up against anybody's first 4 albums. He is correct.

I do think Trunk might hold a little animosity, too some. He moved That Metal Show to LA thinking he was gonna get big names on the show and they dissed him.

Too bad I would love to hear the interview but just can't stand Eddie Trunk. I don't care if he is "carrying the flag" because I don't need any justification for a band I like. Plus you think any record company or music centric company honestly thinks "I really can't stand hard rock but since Eddie Trunk likes it, well I must be wrong. He is the the pinnacle of journalistic excellence"

Its like thinking Blabbermouth is the foremost authority on music

I used to like Eddie Trunk and TMS because quite honestly if Eddie didn't bring up the VH name nobody would have ever talked about it. I mean when I was teenager I looked forward to all the MTV VH specials and thought they were great. Finding a show that had some of my favorite rock guys on it in this day and age was pretty cool. I even like the interviews too but geez, let the person being interviewed talk. I mean honestly I would think interviewing someone like Dave could be tough as he tends to go off on tangents but that is Dave. When I want to hear some actual factual VH lore from a band member, Mike is probably the guy that would give it to us the straightest without slamming anyone. Clearly Mike is not into dishing dirt but I don't need dirt. I just want to hear cool stories about my favorite band and not have that person be interupted by someone trying to prove how much musical knowledge they posses. Apparently that's too much to ask. howard Stern does this too and it's maddening though Howard just interupts to ask silly X rated questions.

The Vinnie Vincent interview and the build up and aftermath made for good radio. Otherwise, it's pretty ho-hum stuff. I like to listen to music more than talk it and the Links already scratches that itch......don't need music talk radio on top of it.
