This was hard, even though i'm not huge into either.

I love High & Dry, but i also love Slide it in & 1987.

Pyromania is a classic, but WS had John Sykes!

It's pretty much a draw, but i went WS just because they will get less votes.

Good comparison..they're kinda the same band. I liked both when they were relevant. Would go with white snake off videos alone, lol

As good as Whitesnake is, Pyromania was the album for me.

Hard to say. For me, Anything after 1990 I haven't terribly enjoyed by either band, for different reasons. Hysteria is my favorite DL record, I like the "overproduction" on it. Whitesnake kicks ass, but I prefer the early Deep-Purple-lite version of Whitesnake before the 87 record.
I voted for DL, by a small margin.

Like them both. Don't love either of them. Just part of the "pack" for me. But I definitely listen to Def Leppard more so they get my vote.

DL are only 2 albums for me, High n Dry & Pyromania and I never put them on these days unless the randomiser plays them.

Whitesnake I listen to often, particularly the first 7 albums.

    Default Def Leppard vs Whitesnake?

I would actually listen to some Def Leppard now and then. I would never listen to Whitesnake anymore. Just not a band that had any lasting power for me.

Depends on which period of each band. WS has the better singer by a country mile. DL were amazing in the early 80s. Overall, a tie.

    About even for me.

First 3 DL albums are classics & the recent self titled one wasn't bad.

Whitesnake's self titled is the best album by either band, thanks almost fully to John Sykes. And every album they've done since reuniting in 2004 has been great.

The first two DL records was my time. After that just a few tunes here and there I dig.

Slide it In and '87 are good records. Even the Vai record had a few I liked.

I don't listen to any of them that much anymore, but I'll give WS the nod.

    Thumbs up

I am a big fan of both bands. But Whitesnake gets my vote.

Whitesnake has much better guitar playing. I love John Sykes, Steve Vai & Reb Beach.

Phil Collen & Vivian Campbell can't compare to them IMO. Vivian Campbell actually joined Def Leppard after being fired by Coverdale from Whitesnake.

I am a much bigger fan of David Coverdale than Joe Elliot.

I thought the same about a draw, but it seems WS will win it.

I also voted for Dave Coverdale and his supergroup. Ian Paice and Cozy Powell and Tommy Aldridge and Reb Beach and Sykes, John Sykes.
I even enjoy Vaisnake and some stuff Adrian Vandenberg put out before he joined WS as well.
Slide it in, the american version, is by far their best effort, IMHO.

Go to go Def Leppard after the first 3 albums. OTTN is a great early rock record. My favorite is High N Dry. Pyro is great as well.

I have probably seen Def Leppard Live over 15 times. They always put on a good fun show. Just saw them last Nov in 2019. Let it Go, Too Late For Love and Paper Sun were highlights for me.

Whitesnake is great to. Ain't no Love in the Heart of the City is a fantastic track. Love the Sykes era guitar playing as well.
