    1984.

It’s a wider variety of catchier tunes. Eddie’s peak in terms of creative lead playing. Production is fantastic too (part from HOP and GGB sounding like 5150).

VH2 is no slouch, but 1984 has several of my all time favorite VH songs.

I started typing and nearly talked myself out of my initial pick, which is 1984. I love that record, but must admit that I stop listening after HFT. I have never liked I'll Wait or Girl Gone Bad and House of Pain just gets lost on that side with the other losers. Yeah, you read that right Gravers. BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

VHII was certainly a statement that Van Halen was no fluke. While it has two of my favorite Dave era songs--DTNA and SGMAD--it just seemed like a step down from the debut. Then, of course, Van Halen blew everybody out of the water with Women and Children First.

1984. For Ed’s guitar sound alone.

To me, Girl Gone Bad is the most grossly overrated song on this site, save for Me Wise Magic. I don't care for either of them and only dislike I'll Wait slightly more than those two songs. I don't mean to pierce the hearts of the faithful to those songs. I suppose its like the dagger in my heart every time someone disparages my babies: Love Walks In, When It's Love, and Right Now.

Girl Gone Bad and Me Wise Magic absolutely destroy Love Walks In, When It's Love and Right Now, and my opinion has NOTHING to do with Dave and Sammy. The music on GGB and MWM simply crush the music on LWI, WIL and RN.

I just don't hear what you're hearing Coulda, but I'm glad you've found the Halen you like.

To be fair, everything is a step down from the debut.

My vote is 1984...by a guitar string.

    84. Not really close for me. VH2 is probably my least favourite of the 6 pack.
