What do you think? I like it, personally. It's a different kind of song. I never heard VH play a song like that before. The solo is really different. It's good, although you can't really hear it over the drums and rhythm guitar. It's one that's not talked about much, but is given bad grass whe it is.
If I just keep talking louder, somebody will eventually have to listen to me.
***********************************
SAVE FERRIS!!!!

I love it, it's a really simple tune that grooves like a MF.
I think it gets a bad rap because it's sooo simple, but who cares, if complexity were important in the popularity of a tune, motzart would be the most popular dude around My Band

I like how VH had a good variety of different songs on Balance. Big Fat Money is one of them. I think the solo is cool, and the fast-paced beat is too.

This used to be my favorite tune from Balance. I don't really like the lyrics that much, but I love how Sam sings them.

I always liked the song. It rocks! I don't understand the bad rap about it.

I like this song (heard Amsterdam, BFM and Aftershock this morning actually.) It's got good music to it, a cool groove and a Gibson 335ish sounding solo. I think the reason why it gets a bad rap is because Hagar sounds kind of gay in it. Which is up to the person whose listening to judge but he has sounded better.

I love this tune, too! I think the reason it's gotten a bad rap in the past were because of Sammy's cheeseball lyrics and the fact that it's sort of a retread of "A.F.U." and Led Zep's "Rock and Roll".

It's OK. I usually skip it, primarily because of the lyrics. ("Big fat money"? Come on now. . . .)

I used to really like this song when "Balance" came out. It seemed that everyone was kind of ignoring it (ie: radio, MTV, etc) and I was always a bit confused why...I mean, the song really had a cool vibe and just jammed. I never paid much attention to lyrics until about 2 years ago when I started hearing the grumblings of how Ed and Al weren't real sold on Sam's quality of lyrical composition on the entire cd.
However, with the amount of "Balance" shows I've collected over the past several months, it seems that the song has worn off me. I don't like it nearly as much. Maybe it's just because I have so many of those shows, that song gets played over and over and over...I don't know.
I can still listen to it, but it's not my first choice when turning on "Balance"."Once the final BAN has been completed I will ban myself." -OLO, March 21, 2002

I don't get why this song gets ripped. I like it alot. It's so fast and has such a cool vibe. I think the lyrics are fine, when the music is moving that fast you just gotta kinda go with it and that's what Sam does. I've heard live versions of the song-like the one on the PPV-that I thought were a little better but overall this song smokes.

I think it's a really cool tune. Has a really cool vibe to it, and I also like how Sammy sings the lyrics. Some different guitar sound on it also

Personally, it's certainly not one of my favorites. But there's a simple reason most people wouldn't like it...
One of the keys to a 'popular' song is that people can sing along with it easily. In BFM, Sammy is going a mile a minute; it's tougher to decipher than usual, and a bitch to keep up. When people can't follow the vocals, they usually can't follow the song, because most people (no offense intended here to anyone) can only comprehend TWO parts of a song:the BEAT, and the VOCALS. Make either one difficult to follow, and people tune out.
And for those complaining about the lyrics, consider what was going between VH and Ray Danniels at the time, and they make a LOT more sense. I don't think Sammy was being autobiographical in the lyrics; he was being SATIRICAL.Don't bark at me...I didn't name ya.
