Sirius/XM often has promotional type programs for free....Sometimes for a day or even a weekend. Check out their website for details. For instance notice the free subscription offer at the bottom of the advertisement/link...

Very cool! Great to see Van Halen being spotlighted!

I’m not a big fan of XM though. I had it a few times over the years, as you often get it for free when you purchase a new vehicle. It just doesn’t have the fidelity (or whatever you call it) that your MP3s or even FM radio has, it really lacks in my opinion. Also, they play the same songs over and over. I would hear the same songs on my way home from work that I heard on the way in. Their Program Directors are really lazy.

You have bands that have careers that last decades, and they play the same 3-4 songs over and over. That’s why I refuse to pay for it. They should figure out a way to drastically reduce the cost, or give it away for free, and find a way to pay for it through sponsors.

The bolded part already exists, no? It's called terrestrial radio.

I purchased a new truck last year and after the free trial was over, I decided to purchase a years sub. Cost was about $150.00. Seven months in, I probably won't re-up, unless there is a way to only pay for what I want. I think they do offer something along those lines, so I will look into that when my sub is close to expiring.

That was my experience a couple years back when we bought a new car. It's cool at first, but then you do start hearing the same few songs by artists, so the playlist is not much better than terrestrial radio. Lol, if I ever won the lottery, I think I would seriously think about buying my own radio station and hire DJs and give them the freedom to play anything they wanted. How many times do people really need to hear Paradise City or You Really Got Me?

I was expecting Van Halen non stop all weekend. So I'm a bit disappointed, lol

I bought a car last year that already had sirius radio, I had it for about 3 months then it was shut off. They kept calling me and I told them I wasn't interested, then they offered it to me for $5.99 a month for a year, so I got it. I mainly listen to HairNation, that takes me back to my high school days...also they play a lot of David Lee

I'm about to email these guys and say more Van Halen please!
