    Identify between the bridge and the neck? It should have a longer wire

    DC resistance doesn't really say much about a pick up's output.
    Here's some fun pick up info;

    http://www.planetz.com/pickup-dc-res...output-levels/

    Enjoy

    Too much words. I know pickup make noise sound good.

    Jk, great read!

    This sounds untraditional, but is correct. After a little research, apparently thinner gauge wire was used for the neck PU, resulting in the higher than the bridge reading, even though the bridge PU is actually the hotter, more powerful one.

    DC resistance measurements are widely used as a gauge of the “output” of passive magnetic pickups. This use of DC resistance is both technically incorrect and often misleading; to find out why, read on

    Im sorry but a PAF or PAT # reading 7-8k will not sound the same as a pickup that reads 13-14k.

    Technically it might not be accurate for comparison purposes, but sonically there is a massive difference.

    If those are humbuckers, it sounds like they both got a broken coil

    BTW, nobody said they would sound the same.

    Yes, the early humbucking pickups and PAF-style pickups were/are nowhere near as hot as the pickups that came after and are currently being marketed to rock/metal guitar players.

    That's about right for PAF-style pickups wound with 42ga wire. I have a PAF-style neck humbucker that measures 6.98K.
