Local Denny's isn't a small business and it is open for dine in, while every other restaurant in the area is carry out or some have tents in the parking for dining. These tents are almost fully enclosed with heaters, too similar to dine in from what I see driving by.

I'm enjoying Thanksgiving with my wife and son, 21 people short of normal years. Sure hope these vaccines work and aren't used in some sort of political bullshit. And I mean that for both parties in the U.S.

We are getting back to normal here now apart from international travel. There's some density restrictions in place at indoor venues, but for the most part, it's all good. No active cases, no new cases for a month in our state. Only 1 state has any community transmission and it's a just small cluster being dealth with. We expect clusters to pop up here and there.

Mayor Hancock pleads with Denverites to stay home for Thanksgiving, then promptly boards plane out of DIA to celebrate Thanksgiving with family

DENVER — Denver Mayor Michael Hancock flew to Mississippi Wednesday to have Thanksgiving with his wife and daughter at his daughter’s home after pleading with Denverites not to travel for the holiday if possible.

He said he was "asking, I'm urging, I'm pleading" with everybody to stay home.

"Stay home, maybe put out holiday decorations, but stay home," he said.

Mayor Hancock boarding plane 30 minutes after his tweet urging Denverites to stay home

Hancock issued a statement Wednesday afternoon just after 4 p.m. MT discussing his decision to travel and said he apologized to Denverites who were disappointed in his conflicting messages and actions.

"I apologize to the residents of Denver who see my decision as conflicting with the guidance to stay at home for all but essential travel. I made my decision as a husband and father, and for those who are angry and disappointed, I humbly ask you to forgive decisions that are borne of my heart and not my head.”

I have been doing my best not to get involved in politics, COVID, etc since the election because it was taxing on me. Just taking the Bobby Knight approach to 2020 which will continue on to 2021.

That said I don't have issues with doing what I am told providing leadership is consistent across the board. Suffering with us so to speak. One thing this pandemic has shown is that leadership lives by a different set of rules. They also choose to allow certain things yet ban or want to ban others based on their political belief. Both sides.

Bunch of freaking hypocrites. That said I am glad I had Thanksgiving with my 84 and 83 year old parents last week. Just 6 of us so we were careful but had one of the best times with them afterward watching home movies, drinking, etc. They both said (which is true) is that I can afford to lose a year or two due to Covid restrictions. If I can't gather with family, friends, church, etc oh well there is a next year. My parents don't have that time. This could be their last year so they are doing what they want. They are safe and not asking for people to cough on them but they are going to go to the gym, church, shop, etc If they get it, they are ok with it. They are not conspiracists. Mom will get the vaccine when its ready. A good friend of mine yesterday just told me his parents are likely done. Dad has return of cancer. Had to remove a tumor from his back. 8% survival rate. Mother broker her hip and is in rehab for 3 months. Neither of them have any more good years left. Regardless of COVID but that sure isn't going to help things.

Gotta live life. Yeah don't be dumb but also don't be a freaking hypocrite like our politicians.

I’ve been saying the same thing since it’s inception. I had tested positive for COVID from 10/15 to 11/1. It wasn’t hell on earth. My wife has RA and somehow got exposed. No big deal. She takes hydrocloroquine already for RA and I clearly got it from her. All it did to me was make me feel like I was on an airplane because my ears were popping and I had the sniffles. She had very mild symptoms. Less than me.

People died I get that. But it is not worth wrecking the worlds economy for. I have been around 50,000 customers and 250 employees since March. Maybe more. Only 5 have tested positive for COVID and no one has passed. No relatives have passed.

People have lost everything over this. I do not think that it has been worth it.

I don’t listen to politicians or doctors speaking along party lines. Both will benefit from this. In one form or fashion.

I just live my life and don’t behave like a drunken teenager and so far everyone I know is good. I feel sorry for anyone’s family and friends that have passed or succumbed to this virus. But it’s not worth turning off the world.
