I liked the Block because the bars didn't care about silly things like ID to serve you.

The strip places there were nasty. Teeth were optional for the talent.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

    Unhappy

This pretty lady who was a writer for T.V. shows like Dawsons Creek, Heidi Ferrer commited suicide after suffering for many months with severe pain from Covid. She wrote about how she suffered on this website. This is for all the people who think "Covid is just like a flu" Get your shot!!!!

    http://girltomom.com/covid-19/how-im...Rb-db1L2BIp_O0

Dawson’s Creek writer Heidi Ferrer has died at the age of 50 following a 13-month battle with long COVID-19.

The screenwriter’s husband Nick Guthe revealed his significant other took her own life “before her condition worsened” after “intense suffering” from coronavirus, which “took every part of her life away.”

In a post on her blog Girl to Mom, Guthe – who shares 13-year-old son Bexon with Heidi – wrote: “To all of Heidi’s readers, This is Heidi’s husband, Nick, passing along the tragic news that we lost our beautiful Angel due to Long Haul Covid, May 26th, 2021. The excruciating physical pain and inability to sleep from the pain led Heidi to the decision she would rather leave this world on her own terms before her condition worsened more.

“We have intentionally not shared that on social media as many of Bexon’s friends’ parents are on Facebook. As so many children are struggling with the mental stress of the Pandemic, we wanted to protect them without knowing how their parents might share it. We are not hiding it as the mental strain of Long Haul Covid sufferers is a public health crisis that must be addressed quickly.

“Heidi loved hearing from all of you and she never would have made this decision if not for her intense suffering from Long Haul Covid. Over 13 months it took every part of her life away: Her mobility, her enjoyment of food as she had to eat a very restrictive diet, and, in the end, her ability to sleep and even to read books and enjoy them. (sic)”

Guthe also shared a post on his wife’s Facebook account:

“This is Heidi’s husband, Nick Guthe, to pass along the heartbreaking news that Heidi, our beloved, passed away last night after a 13 month battle with Long Haul Covid,” he wrote. “She fought it like she lived, ferociously, but in the end it was relentless and took away everything from her. We are still just beginning to process the depth of our loss. I will not be able to check her page all the time. Please find me on FB and feel free to message me if you would like to. It gives us strength to hear from those that loved her. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Infantile Scoliosis Outreach Program in her memory. This is the non-profit that saved Bexon’s spine. This organization gave us everything and it is what she would want. Godspeed, my Angel, I’ll see you down the road. (sic)”

Ferrer contracted coronavirus in April 2020, and she was bedridden a few months later.

She’s survived by Nick, Bexon, her mother Nancy Gilmore and sisters Laura Ferrer-Schmidt and Sierra Summerville

I'm not sure strip places are even a thing anymore. We had 6 here at one point in the late 90s, then 3 for many years, now there's one that's been open since the 60s

People are puzzling. They have a vaccine that will protect you from getting and spreading the virus and people are on the fence about it? I don’t think there’s enough horror stories to change their minds.

My favorite quote of the week:

“I may die of COVID, but I'd rather die actually living."
-Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley

    WTF does that even mean?

The thing that really annoys me is people like my sister’s family - at least the chunk of them that’s situated themselves over north of Tampa. They are Christian, as am I, but unlike me they aren’t shy about wearing their Jesus on their sleeve - typical church going and bible studies and stuff like that, but also saying “grace” even when out to eat and wearing “Jesus” clothes and little Jesus signs in the house and Jesus stuff on Facebook (my sister anyway), yet out of the six adults, only my sister (who has a wide variety of health issues) is vaccinated and before that they were all half hearted about the masking and social distancing (my nephew even posted pictures from a church motorcycle group gathering of maybe 20 people - not a mask to be seen…). So all this time you know they’ve been praying something like “God deliver us from COVID” in their prayers and yet they choose to reject God’s answer. Not flashy enough for them I guess. One of my other nephews, who does not live there, had to convince his mother to wear a mask. Apparently her objection was that COVID was just a ruse to get rid of Trump. Yes, all of the countries in the world, who can’t even agree who to bomb today, are going to come together as part of a conspiracy plan to stage a deadly virus in order to hasten the departure of an American president! Ay yi yi…

There is nothing wrong with saying prayer before eating at a restaurant. We do it all the time but we don't make a spectacle of ourselves.

I have one line of Uncle, Aunt, and cousins and their spouses and kids that are super weird about the whole thing. Won't get vaccinated, told me something about the mark of the beast and that it was in the Bible. I cannot get behind a belief that a loving God would do this when people are expecting relief from a deadly virus. One cousin keeps posting on facebook the vaccine is poison.

All I can do is shake my head.

I pray before eating but when I do it's

"But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

I do it silently. I don't clasp my hands together, bow my head so everyone can see and say out loud. Nobody is impressed by that. That's just people WANTING to be seen.

I'll say this and then I'll leave it cos it's not the appropriate thread. Imo, A LOT of self-proclaimed Christians do it for show. It's the image they want to project.

Well, the issue isn’t the praying before a meal - it’s praying for safety from a virus pandemic and the rejecting what could be God’s answer!
