Blues Bustin' Mambo Slammers Question
Since there is virtually no info on his '95 Vegas residency band other than the Van Halen Encylopedia and a couple other things, does anyone know who his guitarist during that time was?
I know he had Edgar Winter in the band, but I also remember reading he had some or most of the Miami Sound Machine as his backing band. I heard Nile Rodgers might have been his guitarist, but I think that was just for the one-off group he used for the brass version of "Ice Cream Man" he did around that time, not the Mambo Slammers. I can't see Nile Rodgers doing that, but Edgar Winter did so who knows?
And is it the "Non-Stop Blues Bustin' Mambo Slammers" or just the "Blues Bustin' Mambo Slammers" lol?
I, unlike many, actually fucking liked that shit. "Living in America," "Lido Shuffle,"...nothin' but yeah.Dave

This is the first live concert video footage I've seen from the 1995 MGM Grand Las Vegas shows.
Recently uploaded, only 53 views so far. I was going to make a new thread, but figured only a few select fan's will dig it & appreciate the rarity factor. Did a quick search & this is the most recent thread about the '95 era, so figured I'll post it here.
I like it. I don't care if his hair is short or not doing his traditional big badass Diamond Dave rock star frontman thing. As critical as many fan's are, no one can say he wasn't afraid to try new things. Hit or miss. He went out on a limb & took a huge risk.
I think it would be a fun show. Wouldn't mind to see a full show video. Bummer it didn't work out, but That's Life.
