Not sure how you can support that statement.

Since 1996, they've completed more albums with Dave than with Sam.

Dave didn't come out of nowhere. FFS.

He was a founding member of the band, and was there with them for all the blood sweat and tears while they were building Van Halen. That builds a common history. That's like saying Ozzy came out of nowhere when he rejoined Sabbath, or Paul Rodgers rejoining Bad Company, or Joe Perry rejoining Aerosmith.

You can dislike Dave, and that's fine, a lot of people on here do. But don't just make shit up.

Yes, they do have a body of work to be proud of. And due to that body of work, and the money they made from it, they are able to retire relatively young, enjoy the fruits of their labors, and pursue other passions.

DD, I think he meant that Dave's return was surprising, to say the least. In 96, no one was expecting Dave to return. A few months prior, the VH bros were still giving interviews saying Dave would never be back. I think Al and Mike were surprised too. In hindsight, you can see a few sign something was going to change, but back then, I remember no one had seen it coming. It was pre-internet and we were all in the dark.

There's two verses. First a low verse then a high verse. He would have major issues with the high verse.
Even if he tried he would have problems with it.

Plus, it's like Top Jimmy. It's just an odd tune, vocally. A few strange twists, musically. Not the easiest to reproduce that live.

As DD said, they would tune it down. That would kill all the power those high parts had.

I think anyone who went to some of the Balance era shows wasn't surprised.

Really? I thought they were tight then. My only frame of reference (I’d actually seeing them on Balance live versus YouTube) was the Toronto show, it was exceptional

I brought up the MWM thing because Wolf said he would've liked to have played it in 2015. I should've known that it would eventually turn in to a Dave vs Sam thing here. My bad.

Wolf, throw us a bone and let us hear one of your songs.

Although I have a feeling when you do, we'll talk about it for a while and then the conversation will move to who would have sounded better on it...Dave or Sam.

Dave and sam would never sing the same song as they would never write the same way. Regardless of your preferences they are very different song writers. Sam would never write MWM or Dave would never write Dreams etc.... just totally different artists and perspective

I must've missed something here. I agree with you. Just not sure where I misled you to come to that conclusion. I was referring, as a joke, to a future debate of who would sound better on Wolf's new music, since everything devolves into Sam vs Dave.

No not you just so often its if Dave had sang insert sam song or if Sam had sang insert Dave song.... as part of that sam vs dave stuff. The songs would not exist they would be different agreeing on the sam dave being pointless.
A joke but someone actually did argue in the thread if Sam had sung MWM.... its all silly.
