OK so I’m finally starting to put up some Zeppelin covers. I love this song, but I’m not the greatest slide guitar player, so you’ll have to forgive me there.

In your mind Brett, what is the biggest difference in play an Ed part and and a Page part. I know that is a broad question as it depends greatly upon the song, but I am curious for your general thoughts.

I thought the slide playing was fine, I can't play slide very well either so I just didn't even bother on my Tush cover.

Can't really do that on this one so you didn't have much choice! Ha!

I actually learned this one long ago and had the same issue where I couldn't dial in a tone I really liked.

Good job on this one!

PAge is more harmony And methodical. Ed is just fury.

My Aunt (RIP) who was a huge Led Zeppelin fan, once said "I could listen to him play all night", about EVH. This was after watching his cadenza solo on LWAN.

Obviously I can too, and often have. Page is another one... His playing is extremely listener friendly and he's a master at several different styles. Easy to see why he was a session player back in the day.

There are several things about guitar playing that I could never seem to get a handle on, with slide, and sweep picking being at the top of the list.

You did fine. Sounded good, and I love the tune. Looking forward to hearing more Zeppelin stuff. Our own Arty Boy is another Page/Zep fanatic, and I've seen him do some awesome videos as well.
