2009 EVH Wolfgang Special - Floyd Rose Replacement

Anyone had any luck replacing their Floyd Rose in their EVH Wolfgang Special. Mine is a 2009 model and the tremolo is worn out. I emailed floydrose.com, and they say that if the poles measure 74mm, that the Floyd Rose Original "might work". My poles are 74mm. The drawings on floydrose.com show some slightly different measurements than mine, but the poles match.

I’ve put real German Floyd Rose trems on Wolfgang Specials and they fit just fine. Never had an issue.

I've put Floyd Rose bridges on lower budget Ernie Ball Musicman guitars, originally fitted with the Gotoh; which was a direct FR drop in.

I have Wolfgang specials with OFRs, FR1000s (stock), Ping Peavey Floyds, and MusicMan Gotoh Floyds. They all work fine. The GOTOHs are ever so slightly off-center, though, and that much cause need for re-adjustment on the neck by pulling it up/down. Not enough to really mess with intonation though.

A OFR or FR1000 would be my recommendation.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I feel more confident now. I just ordered a gold original floyd rose with the R2 locking nut from floydrose.com.

Original Floyd Rose. It’s simply the best you can use.
