That would work out to $1.4M per start (based on 30 starts) and about $14,000 per pitch (based on 100 pitches per outing).

I'm not sure why they wouldnt bring it up ingame..seems that stuff could be discovered after just a few pitches if the batter can hear it. Go to the ump next inning and say hey listen for this when I throw a curve

One would thing there would be an easier way to relay what pitch was coming to the batter. Maybe through one of the base coaches.

On Golic and Wingo this morning, they were discussing all the ways the Nationals were checking on the Astros stealing signs.

I'm fine with the a guy on 2nd base relaying to the batter if he can figure it out. But having people watch the game, decipher the signs being used, signal the dugout, and then have someone in the dugout make an audible sign for the batter to hear? To me, that's cheating.
