Private Show at SIR Rehearsal Studios last night [09.26.19] for DLR in Vegas

There was a private show held at SIR Rehearsal Studios last night for a bunch of industry types. From the bit of footage that's leaked out from it, Dave is moving well as always but still struggling vocally and doing too many of those out of tune yelps. He's also dusted off the matador jacket. His band sounds really paint by numbers and boring. 3 guitars is overkill. I know its just a cell phone recording but 1 of the 3 guiarists sounded out of tune, and none of them could sing backup. And they are playing everything slow except Panama. Way too much gain. Dave is Dave. He sounds ok and is moving like a guy half his age - so props for that... I got nothing but respect for him. But the songs just don't come to life without EVH/AVH on that stage. Same as when Sammy plays them. "Van Halen" can not be duplicated. But I know these guys gotta move on with life... Just my thoughts.

I hope Dave has a great time and is very successful with his residency...

Yeah, the real issue there isn't so much Dave...he's still barking the way he's barked the last ten years...it's the guitarists. Cell phone video or not....they suck.

Oofah. The band seems fine if a bit anonymous and boring (what's with the dirge-like tempo of RWTD?) but Dave continues to be painful to watch and hear live. I don't think I'd bother with this at the corner bar much less a pricey Las Vegas setting.

3 guitars. 2 guys with Strats, a guy with a Tele and the bass player. (Looks like 3rd GTR plays keys on Jump)

Would have been nice if Dave could have booked John 5 on guitar for these shows. Maybe Portnoy on drums since he plays with everyone. These guys have zero energy. It's basically karaoke.

I wouldn't go to Vegas for this, but then again, I wouldn't go to it if it were here in Florida, either. I also *probably* wouldn't go to VH at this point unless it was in support of a new album.
