Default Sammy Hagar’s High Tide Beach Party & Car Show in Huntington Beach has been canceled

    https://www.ocregister.com/2019/09/2...been-canceled/

The California Department of Parks and Recreation has put a stop to Sammy Hagar’s second annual High Tide Beach Party & Car Show, scheduled to take place on Sept. 28-29 at Huntington State Beach.

In a press release issued Friday, Sept. 20, California State Parks said that the production company “did not meet permit requirements.”

Ticket holders are encouraged to contact the promoter, Freeze Management, at info@FreezeManagment.com, info@HighTideBeachParty.com or press@HighTideBeachParty.com, the California State Parks release continues.

State Parks Superintendent Kevin Pearsall said the event’s production company, Freeze Management, hadn’t paid all fees for the festival, including those related to public safety. He said the company also failed to produce contracts for sanitation services and hadn’t provided safety documentation for the main stage as required by California State Parks and the Office of the State Fire Marshall.

“For the first time ever, that I’ve experienced, we are a week out and we were unable to collect fees for any of the required elements of the permit, which included law enforcement, medical and fire,” Pearsall said. “We couldn’t get any of the documents from (Freeze Management) to finish up the Fire Marshall element or the ABC license. Everything has timelines and limits and every single one of them were not met.

“We decided today, at this point, with literally nothing in place, the best thing to do was not to approve the permit.”

The event was supposed to feature sets by Sammy Hagar & The Circle featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, Vic Johnson, Richie Sambora and more. It also included appearances by KC & The Sunshine Band, The Beach Boys, Night Ranger, Vince Neil, Blue Öyster Cult, Extreme and Steel Panther.

The event last year was met with criticism some fans, especially those who shelled out big dollars for an upgraded experience in its inaugural year. The Orange County Register entertainment staff received several emails and comments from readers detailing their poor experience.

“This was the most poorly planned and executed show I’ve ever been to,” attendee David Manley posted. He went on to list his concerns including gates opening late, the lack of promised amenities including free tacos in the Cabo Wabo Cantina and complimentary water. There was also a lack of tables where people could sit in the VIP area, bathrooms ran out of the basics like toilet paper and trashcans were overflowing.

Music fan Susan Ridgway also weighed in, noting that the event “was poorly staffed, greatly unorganized and felt like a scam.”

    Her compliant echoed Manley’s.

“You were supposed to offer gifts to the first 2,500 people, you did not,” she said in her email. “The beer line was over 1 hour and 20 mins, you ran out of the promised water, free rum drinks and tacos for the VIP ticket holders and no one was taking care of the VIP bathroom trailers.”

This year’s premium amenities included two-day VIP cabana access for $600 with pit or reserved seating, single and single-day VIP for $325. There was also an exclusive kick-off party for $250 and a Hangover Brunch Cruise for $150 per person. General admission tickets were going for $110 for two-day passes and $59 for single-day.

i remember him even talking about it not being very well organized last year and if the artist is telling you it wasn't great then it must have been a cluster. Sounds like he went back to the same people who ran it last year though which seems weird.
