Should LWAN have been released as a live album?

I’ven been listening to LWAN a lot lately. Don’t know why but I randomly thought it would have been a fantastic live album.

Thoughts?

Yes. It would have been a great album.

Perhaps if LWAN had been released, RHRN would have turned out differently and not caused friction between Eddie and Sammy like it did and the band would be in a different state today.

They could have put promo vids on mtv like they eventually did with LWIN, BOVW and 5150

LOL, I did the same thing back in high school only from VHS to cassette. I played that thing in the car constantly.

I really think the 5150 stuff on LWAN is so superior to the studio cuts. Ed's guitar tone sounds much better, the tempos aren't as plodding and it just sounds more like what I think Van Halen should sound like.

Should have released a CD to go along with the video like they did with RHRN.

When LWAN was released to DVD format (don’t know the year that was) it technically is an album... DVD audio is actually equal to CD quality audio... a very similar sample rate...

You just need to “loop capture” the DVD audio playback with a standard audio interface... and then chop the large single audio region into individual chunks... you can then export each song chunk to WAV file format (to burn to a CD disk) or to MP3 for smart phone or iTunes use
