I've never been able to buy the "Roth never could sing and got by on personality" story. Thats a myth that started in the Van Hagar era. You don't get what's happening in that video from a book or vocal coach. They can help you refine it, but either you open your mouth and it's there or it's not. I think anyone who's ever tried to form a band knows a guy who had The Look and could pump out the sound Dave does in that video could pretty well write their own ticket.

This looks incredible. I bought a VHS of this show at a Record Convention some 30 years ago. I remember thinking it was such a shame it was so unwatchable.

This gives me hope more restored video will surface.

If 13:19 to 16:50 was the ONLY documented audio/video of Edward Van Halen, that existed... I would still call him the greatest rock guitar player that ever lived. Bar none. The fact that it's 1978 is mind blowing.
