Pleasure Dome
Has anyone ever seen or heard Ed play the intro to Please Dome live?
Only know they played the song minus the intro during F.U.C.K. tour
It's a great little piece!

There's a video compilation on YT that shows Eddie playing a black EBMM backstage, doing Deep Purple riffs. Also a demo of an unreleased demo for a song intended for the III follow up. That same video (about 10 minutes long) has Eddie's live solo from the '91 or '93 tour. He plays the Pleasure Dome intro, live. It kicks ass, and I agree, it's a great piece of music!
Search for "EVH plays Deep Purple" or "Rare EVH interview 1991" etc.
Can't recall the exact title right now, but have seen it a few times, and it has been posted on this site before. Hope this helps..."There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - A very wise fan.
"Embrace the past. Live in the moment but keep your eyes on the future, and keep on moving forward..." - Richie Sambora

I think he means “It’s Not Over ‘Till It’s Over” but I don’t see the intro to “Pleasure Dome” being played in that video.

I've seen two videos like the one I mentioned ^^^. One is a couple minutes long (edited down), and the other, like I said, is about ten minutes long. In the long one, Error does play It's Not Over 'Till It's Over on an unplugged Wolfgang guitar.
It has been discussed here before and Jeff H. said he was present for it. There are even still shots in an issue of The Inside magazine. Any-hooo, if memory serves, the long video compilation starts with the backstage banter then into the jamming and Deep Purple riffs, then cuts to the demo ^^^, then cuts to an EVH live solo where he starts with the Pleasure Dome intro in place of where he typically played 316."There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - A very wise fan.

Parts of that intro originated during his concert solo on the Invasion Tour of 1980. There's not too many decent sounding full concert boots from that tour, unfortunately, but London 1980 sounds pretty good and he plays some of it there, as well as the Mean Street intro and a very early use of the Cathedral volume swells technique.
The Pleasure Dome intro is definitely one of his coolest.

get on youtube and type in Van Halen Sacramento 93. Go to the solo and Ed plays the intro to PD right off the bat. My fav version of it too.
awesome

This. I was gonna say this whole big thing but whatever. Sam is tuned down but the history of his voice is still there. It's respectable still. We're never going "wtf was that"? We're always...
