I took tennis lessons when I was 12 years old and I've loved the game ever since. Rooted for Jimmy Connors and Chris Evert way back in the day. Love me some Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi on the men's side and I've always rooted for the Williams sisters (especially Serena) on the women's side. Serena still needs one more Grand Slam singles title to tie Margaret Smith Court for the all-time record with 24. She's lost in 3 GS finals since returning from the birth of her first child. Pretty amazing that she won her first GS singles title at the US Open way back in 1997.

My bad. I actually meant to type 1999, believe it or not. We were on vacation in Maui and my daughter (who will turn 22 on Tuesday) had just celebrated her 2nd birthday. Serena defeated Hingis in that 1999 final.
