    Default True Love 💘

Look at this 📷 & what do you 👀....

Or should I say....conveniently chose to ignore what you 👀....

And I'm assuming this is something everyone 👀 all over North America every city wherever you live it's in your face.

This ^^^ is a pretty moving & profound photo, IMO.

And I'm not just talking about the homeless folks....

Look at the 🐕....He or Shel might not even know they're homeless...yet....

In my neck of the woods...the Housing Market these past years has caused an unprecedented overwhelming burden on Pet Shelters like never before....

Renters can't find affordable accomodations as it is & the ones they do won't allow pets!!!!!

The property owners are discriminating against PET's!!!!

No Dogs 🐕 No 🐱 allowed!!!

So- Pet owners have to move but can't bring their pet's with them????

This is something I cannot fathom...but consider myself fortunate but can't help but have mixed feelings about the situation.

Can't really judge folks but in the back of my mind think they are scumbags giving up their pets.

Unlike the Homeless guy in the photo above.

Homeless folks with Dogs might be selfish but you never know each person & pet is an individual situation.

    Can't judge. Really can't.

Sure as fuck would like to help.

The Dogs. Make sure they're ok.

    Tough situation all around.

Homelessness has increased 140% in the last 2 years. It’s an epidemic. The tent cities are growing vast in most metropolitan areas. I am seriously considering switching careers to help out more than I currently do. It just isn’t right. 30% are children. Living on the street. Yeah, and just because a homeless person has a dog or a phone doesn’t mean they still don’t need help.

Help however you can, whenever you can.

Yeah absolutely. That's why I posted it here now.

Just imagine you are homeless...& have a Dog....

One one hand the Dog is initially probababy elated to spend the entire day 24 hours outside walking around....as opposed to being stuck in the backyard or truck waiting for his human.

But of course....on the other hand....if the Dog owner ends up homeless ...how does that affect the Dog....

    Is my question.....

In some cases could be good....other cases not so much....

Well yeah, - that's the hard part is figuring out HOW to help....

I've personally only made one attempt so far....I hooked a guy up with a job as a construction laboror on one of my friends site's that has a trailer & seperate first aid camper that he can subside in as a night time security guard capacity for a while at least he'll have a place to stay at night then work in the day & make a few bucks but of course there's a huge risk not knowing if he's trustworthy or not wont find out until later on....but my initial spidey-sense hunch is that he is an ok guy & could be mutually benificial to the site & appreciative of the position put into. He could live & work there rent free for a year or so if he's sharp stash away his earnings & maybe later on have enough for a down payment on a condo or something. At the very least buy a truck & get a camper to have for backup then always have somewhere to sleep.

It doesn’t matter how. It only matters that we try. Debating endlessly about method or probability of success is why it’s a rampantly out of control issue.

Most Americans don’t bother. Most Americans are “not in my backyard” a kht the homeless.

It’s as easy as making an extra sandwich for lunch and giving it to the guy outside sleeping on cardboard.

This is such a troubling issue for me. As a Catholic I feel the moral need to help these people (I've asked so many people in the streets if they want something to eat and go get them something). As someone who studied economics I've been taught that doing this will do nothing but encourage people who could be living somewhere safer to stay in the street. It's becoming more of an issue in Toronto in recent years (though nothing like what I've seen stateside). Ours, and I assume yours, is more of an issue of mental health resources needing to be poured into the problem.

As for the photo, dogs have insane levels of loyalty.

That mike and I hate to say this as I have lived it to a certain extent, but a fair amount is substance and alcohol related. At least the ones I have encountered.

My dog is loyal. But he’s a shih-zu. He’s not really the protecting type. But he’s cool. Love the furry dude.

Had many dogs in my 61 years. Hurts me pretty bad when they die and you have to give them the needle. I have a Chesapeake Bay Retreiver he's wild 70 lbs of bone and muscle. He ran full speed in the backyard into my knee a month ago Im still hurting. But he's a big baby.

I give some charity to food groups here and overseas.I hear many charital groups are hurting since the tax laws changed basically eliminating the deduction for many so give as much as you can.

If you want to help and don't know how, contact your local United Way, Salvation Army, or local rescue mission to ask how you can get involved/help.

Another way that damn near anyone can help is to donate goods and not needed clothes anymore to a food pantry. Not the Salvation Army. While they do good work, local pantries help more local residents in need.
