Try this - Drop one song from the 6 pack

With all the threads going around with what's the best song, which song exemplifies the classic VH sound, and all around song v song threads - I thought of this one.

You have to drop one song from the Classic 6 Pack VH catalog. Here's the hard part - it can't be a Cover Song, Solo, Mini Tune (Under 2 min). Has to be an Original song longer than 2 min.

For me it's going to be:

House of Pain

Love the song - just hate the placement of it in the entire catalog. It just never fit in to me on 1984. Felt like a Fair Warning tune and would have been a better closer to Fair Warning than One Foot out the Door.

Don't get me wrong - love the song - just by the time I reach the end of 1984 - I'm out of energy and not listening as intently. If I kick my day off with HOP it's a different story. Just can't put the song as a top song as my 14 year old self won't let me even some 30 + years later.

Hopefully this is a fun interesting thread. It was hard for me to even conceive of losing a song from the 6 best albums on the planet.

Ahh. my bad!! I didn't read the whole post. That's a lot more difficult!

Not a huge fan of Top Jimmy, and of course sick of hearing Jump and ATBL, though I understand their historical value. So I'd prob have to go with Top Jimmy (He's the King... OHHHHH JIMMY!)

I was going to take it a step further and drop a song from each album of the six pack...but then I couldn't eliminate a song that matched the criteria from Fair Warning, so I wussed out of that idea.

I was going to go with that, but the drum track is just too insane to be dropped! One of Al's most underrated tracks!
Song is definitely pretty silly lyrically.
