This thing will do 0-60 in less that 3 seconds and the price starts at 60K.

    Interesting.

Do you work for GM or a contract to them?

Perfect timing, because I had wanted to make a Corvette post.

I see Corvettes all the time lately, and I'll think, "What an awesome car! Who's the lucky driver?"

Without fail, it's a 70 year old man in his golf clothes. Didn't this used to be a teenager's car? These old men are rapidly killing the image of the Corvette just like the doughboys in Hawaiian shirts and cargo shorts are killing the image of the Les Paul in the "Let Us See You Gigging with Your Lester!" thread on the Les Paul Forum.

I think its because the 70 year old guys are the ones who can afford them. Most Vettes with options probably go for 65-70K new.

Boing, splat. Rolling sex, although I despise the stupid plastic add ons around the body work. Corvettes will always be my babies.

It has similar lines to the Pininfarina electric supercar, which has similar lines to Ferrarri.

Looks cool from the outside but, as with all American cars, a letdown on the inside - like a Toyota rather than a sports car - and is topped off with soggy handling (corners, anyone?), stiff ride and at the end of the day is just a 'Vette, not a prestige name.

Compare it to similarly-priced rivals like the Jaguar F-Type and Porsche Cayman and there's no comparison on any level straight-line speed and acceleration. And the competition don't care because they know there's more to a sexy, dynamic sports car than just grunt. Plus they have the 'name' and class.

The English aren't allowed to talk about cars...just saying.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

LOL what? Much classier and iconic designs and styling for a start. Performance in droves from Bentley, TVR, Rolls Royce, Range Rover, Lotus, Aston, Jaguar, Ariel et al which prove the point I'm making. Maybe you're harking back 40 years to the dark days (ie: British Leyland and Jag electrics) but even if so, most, if not all, of the European Fords and Nissans are designed and built at the UK plants. Aston even give bumper to bumper warranties such is their confidence in their products and the 15 year-old DB9 is still a helluva lot classier and sexier than what you guys produce today

That makes sense. It's just odd, it's the same guys who maybe a dozen years ago were getting out of Cadillacs with the spare wheel thingy on the back.

Speaking of Porsches, another thing I find weird: Why am I seeing Porsche station wagons? The Porsche is a rock star car, not a soccer mom car. I hope these companies realize what they're doing to their images.
