Normally I'd post my shitty covers in the guitar room but this one gave me a chuckle.

I was playing in the basement when my wife came home with the kids and they came running downstairs. My youngest one says he wants to "join. The band" so he grabs my blue 5150 knockoff and tells me he wants a recording like his brother has with me.

So here it is. Like Dave said, there's a little Van Halen in all of us!

He didn't do his stand up bass justice in this vid, when he first came down he grabbed my Strat and looked like the bass player in the Stray Cats with the way he was grooving. It was so funny!

Yeah, he's got a good sense of rhythm and time. His hands are just too small to fret the notes. I've tried to show him some basic chords and he complains that it hurts to push the strings down.

Yeah, the best part about it is that they've shown an interest on their own and I haven't pushed it on them.

I've got a keyboard down there too and my older one was trying to play Jump on it. I was actually impressed because I never told him or showed him it was a keyboard for the main riff, but he could tell it wasn't a guitar and recognized that he could get that sound out of a keyboard.

I've said it before, as a father i can completely understand Ed's desire to play with his son. It's a shame Mike got caught up in the wash but I can't fault the guy for wanting to play with his son.
