I guess we'll have to wait and see when the movie comes out if he's in there or not.

Even if he was in the movie, would people (the mainstream public) recognize him?
Well, I guess I missed that about Face the Music. Too bad...

This movie looks so freaking horrible. I thought the second one was terrible, this one looks even worse.

There are some movies that only work with young heroes. Like do not ever try to make a sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Default Bill & Ted 3! Eddie Van Halen cameo!

Itís not even the fact that they look way way way too old, it is that the first one was a fun novelty, and the second one was just bad. Like REALLY bad. I donít know why they needed to make a third one. And then to wait like almost 30 years? Canoe Reeves is almost 60 freaking years old. The dude was almost 30 when they did the first one for Peteís sake.

I still can't wait for this film. It's a COVID reprieve at this point, and looks fun as hell / a mid-life crisis commentary.

Sometimes making one more after a bad sequel is *because* the last one was so bad, like 'Rocky Balboa' -- which Stallone said he mostly did because Rocky 5 was so shitty. I believe the push for the new Ghostbusters movie came about in response to how awful the girls version was, and they are just pretending that doesn't exist.

But Ghostbusters is doing it right. After 30 years make it a new story. Keep some nostalgia. It's too late to do a direct sequel.

GB 2016 happened because Harold Ramis died (while they were working on a GB3 that had finally been green lit) & there was a rights war. The only way the remaining original members could keep their share was in a contract allowing Sony to do a reboot of their choosing; which led way for Reitman's son to start this new one. That being said, as a die hard GB fan I love GB2016, and I'm also excited for the new one, which from the outside just looks like a Force Awakens/Stranger Things Ripoff. Bill & Ted 3 looks very much like a "keep some nostalgia" concept. I think their daughter's are going to play a bigger part than anticipated.

Wow! Ghostbusters is ripping off Stranger Things?

Careful where you tread with talk of Ghostbusters: Answer the Call... last time it was discussed it got a thread shut down.

That's true with so many things. Van Halen comes to mind.

LOL. Yeah, not much need now. Beyond the fact they are old, I was thinking we're just too far removed form the last film. This isn't Back to The Future or Ghostbusters. There's an entire generation that knows nothing about it. Early 2000's would been the time. We were young, they were younger, and millennials were familiar with it.

I thought it was me but this new movie does look bad. The first one was great but as Brett said, 2nd was terrible. This movie really plays to a very small demographic which is likely people about 45 to 55 years of age. I can't see any young people being into this. The references with likely Van Halen and other similar bands will be lost to them. "What is a Van Halen? Was it a special van and can we use it to live in today?"

Its like Waynes World or Beavis and Butthead. They fit perfectly with the time but the humor now would fall flat. Can't believe they are making a BNB movie either

I think if they really put their minds to it, they could possibly come up with a clever script. But I bet what happened was this--a couple of studio execs were probably just skimming through their catalog of properties and said, "Hey, how about another Bill and Ted?" "Whatever, Fine with me..."

These movies usually go like this. Wouldn't it be great/funny to do another ________? Then the trailer comes out and people go, "Hmmm...well it could still be good I guess." Then the movie comes out, and everyone goes, "Yeah this sucks. Why did they make another one?"

Think about it. How many of these sequels, after such a long time since the last one, have really and truly worked? And please don't say Star Wars. I'm not talking financially, I'm talking about the story and the characters.

Star Wars? Please stop. The last good one was in '83.
    Terminator? Nope.
    Indiana Jones? Nope.
    The Godfather III? Nope.
Ghostbusters? Nope. I don't have faith in the upcoming one either.
    Anchorman? Nope.
    Tron? Nope.
    Sin City? Nope.
    Dumb & Dumber? Nope.
Blade Runner? Nice try, but nope.
Mad Max? Nope. I seem to be in the minority on this one.
Van Halen III? Nope. I had to include it!

Even if you liked a couple of these, they still usually don't measure up to the original.

Seriously, the only one I can think of is Toy Story 3. I even liked the 4th one. This is one of those rare franchises where the 2nd film was the best. The others are The Godfather Part 2 and The Empire Strikes Back.
