Default A question for We Die Young.

Hi mate I haven't been on here for ages but I recall you had a fax from Peavey with the settings Ed was using on the 5150?
I searched but can't find the thread! You wouldn't still have it would you?
    Cheers
I used to be 'sean112' but lost all my details!

You can download the original 5150 and 5150 ii manuals and they have the signature setting in there. If we die young has something I'd like to see it. If I can find the download I'll post it but it will be an imgur link because I still cant post photos directly.

Here it is. It is only in the 5150 ii manual.

The funny thing is the post gain level, this thing might kill you at this volume.

    Hey guys!
Jesus! I'm so sorry I missed this. It's my first time back on the links in a very long time.

Ok..the short answer is yes...I probably have it still, but I will need to dig through a locker or two.

The history of this for anyone interested, and also as a possible alternative source if someone else may have a copy, is that back when Sleeper 5150 and I both ordered our original 5150's from TMT in Richmond BC, on the day we went to pick them up, my buddy who worked there was like "dude...try this!
So he showed me this 8-1/2 X 11 fax page from Peavey that had a control layout diagram, and some handwriting that said "One of Ed's favorite settings."
This fax may have been sent to multiple retailers back in the day.
I can give you those settings though...I remember them well, even though I don't have the amp any longer.
    as follows:
RHYTHM PRE:5 -CRUNCH IN, BRIGHT OUT
    LEAD PRE: 6
    LOW:6
    MID:2
    HIGH:5
    RHYTHM POST: 6
    LEAD POST:6
    RESONANCE:4
    PRESENCE:6

it's quite similar to some computer illustrated diagrams posted years after
but this was the direct from the horse's mouth I managed to snag.
The thing that got me most about was how scooped the mids were...I never would have thought Ed to play that scooped, but the voicing of the amp...the gain structure...it worked well, especially with Ed's w/d/w direction his sound took with Andy's urging..His tone was huge.
