Another one of the things about VH you can't understand. Why they felt the need to go back and re-do most of this in the studio is mind numbing.

So they re-do RHRN when they are all still in their primes, but they release Tokyo Dome warts and all when they are well past their primes. Can't figure this band out.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

There was a radio broadcast from the around the time of the launch of the 91 tour that had fucking amazing sound. I may be confusing two different interviews, but THINK Tommy Nast was interviewing the band from the House of Blues and in between interviews they played....Best of Both Worlds, The Dream is Over, Right Now may have been in there. I can't remember what else. I used to have it on tape. And, man! THAT was what VH sounded like live. It was "rough" sounding, meaning no post processing or cleaning up. Eddie's guitar has NEVER sounded that good on any live recording that I've head since. Just sounded like a redwood being put through a chipper. Fat, warm and gritty. I remember the bar dive in The Dream is Over making the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

Quick question. I have that same poster. What's the story behind that guitar? Don't think I ever seen him play that one. You guitar meatheads probably have answered this before. But I just saw your post and it reminded me to ask.

you're 1/2 right. There was an interview going on between clips of the show but it was only Sam and Mike. When they played they had a bunch of people up there with them. Craig Chiquta (sp) from Starship, Brett Micheals and Ritchie Kotzen, David Lauser..etc. They did stuff like Crossroads and some old Hagar tunes. Since Ed and Al were not there they didn't feel right doing VH songs.
