Maybe I should get a gun

I've always seen no point to the 2nd Amendment allowing mucho gun ownership and the argument about defending against the US government or England coming back for it's former colony is nonsense as even in such never-going-to-happen scenarios both would bring billion dollar heavy-duty hardware like planes, battleships and uh, missiles but even after a year of butchery and murder every week on the streets of London, shit like this still manages to shock.

A better idea is to not be out walking the streets of London at 3am, that is probably the safer bet.

This has got to be the first time I have ever heard of the UK invading us again as a defense of the second amendment.

What the hell are they teaching you guys across the pond about our gun rights?

Sad, when I lived there 20+ years ago London was perfectly safe...thought nothing of being out in the AM’s. A lot has changed....also will not be visiting Paris anytime soon.

We brought billion dollar, heavy-duty hardware like planes, tanks, and missiles to Afghanistan. We had and still have an overwhelming arsenal and massive fire power over them. We even dropped the “mother of all bombs” on them 2 years ago.

We are withdrawing from the war after 18 years…and the Taliban has more territory today than when we started.

It's what I routinely hear from your side of the pond. It's applied to any country and what would be their suicidal thoughts of invading America but often I hear the UK mentioned in particular, I guess out of a mixture of history and ensuing hatred as a result.

Fear not, the way our armed forces are being cut back I wouldn't back us to take over Ishtar.

Brother, we don't hate the UK over here. You'll find most Americans are pretty fond of your country. The invasion things I've heard were in reference to declassified Cold War documents where invading us was war gamed. Which is pretty standard stuff to do, by the way. The Soviets believed that a ground war would be a pain in the ass due to an armed citizenry. If I remember correctly Al-Qaeda reached the same conclusion.

Why would you need a firearm?

Also how many knives do you carry? Asking because every former Spec-For guys I know seem to always have at least three.

I agree with, DD. You probably don't need one. Just stay out of the bad area's and try not to be out super late by yourself.

Brook is right. We don't hate the UK. Quite the opposite.
