Winger covers ATBL, Feb. 7, 2019

Winger covered Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love on February 7, 2019 at their show at the Vault at the Greasy Luck Brew Pub in New Bedford, Massachusetts. And in an interesting twist, Reb Beach plays bass guitar on this cover, as they brought up a local musician as a guest on lead guitar. I thought this VH community would be interested in the video I took. Here it is.

Where is the video?
The set list says they played “Pull me Under”, is that Dream Theatre's Pull me Under? That’s a pretty interesting choice of songs to cover.

I am pretty sure Pull Me Under is a Winger song title as well.

Yep, you are right. Just looked for it in iTunes, it’s dated 2017, new Winger song I guess. I didn’t realize these guys were still cranking out albums.

Video is kaput!

I’ve always like Winger! Great musicians and very ear pleasing tunes. Never understood the reason they were bagged on so bad. Must have been because Bevis and Butthead gave them so much grief, from their TV show, that fans just jump on the bandwagon as well.

“PULL” is one hell of a album. At least on my end, PULL has gotten much more play time on my music than ADKOT, has!

Yep, all the guys in Winger are excellent players, although they're not a band I really listen to. Always did love Seventeen though lol.

Yeah, it's cool that they covered it, but I agree that it doesn't sound nearly as good as VH's version. I don't think I've ever heard anyone do a better version of a VH song than the original, whereas VH's covers almost always completely destroy the originals.

You do realize the guitarist was a guest from a different band, right?

Not a fan, not a fan of most hair metal, but I won't disparage them. They are good musicians.

I don't hold much hope in another act doing a good VH cover. Never have, really. That's almost as unlikely as a vault release.
That said, Winger did a decent job. I've heard worse.
