That was a mostly entertaining read, other than his personal woes and the throat cancer.
Very cool how he 'beat' the CBS system on that show! I can picture the suits in the background thinking "Wtf? How do we stop this?" Haha.

I remember watching a documentary on GSN on this a few years ago, it was pretty interesting. He almost slipped up a couple times near the end of the run and landed on a square that could have wiped him out, got lucky.

They started to years ago with Bill Murray in the lead. It didn't go anywhere, unfortunately.

Haha thatís an amazing story. I remember that show well, I used to watch it all summer on vacation. My dad actually went to high school and was friends with the host Peter Tomarken.

Dude was sure gray for a guy who was only 35.

They definitely need to figure out a way to make this a movie.

Summer for sure! This was much see TV for me. In fact, during the school year I can recall faking sick specifically so I could watch this show. Couldn't get enough. Couldn't wait to have them hit a whammy so you could see the whammy come across the screen and take their money. High tech at that time!

    Ha ha!

Like others have mentioned I loved this show when I was a kid which is why I stumbled across this.

This is great. It's long, but very entertaining. I watched it in segments over the weekend.

The only genre I really know is Van Halen.
