    Default 2018 How was it

As we close how was everyone's 2018? What made you smile? What were challenges? What will you remember and take forward with you from 2018?

My year ended on a piss poor note, personally, health wise, and possibly soon to be financially...
I think 2019 is going to be challenging on a few different levels. C'mon VH, let's have some good news!

Not a pity party, just answering the thread and being honest. I hope most of the Links community has a great night and enjoys a happy and prosperous New Year. Cheers.

Now that Robbie has told us about his hard times, let me talk about how excited I am! I won't look like a wanker at all!

I was excited I attempted to write song lyrics for the first time in my life, and even dared perform solo in public. I drove up to Nashville and played on an open mic night, and also three more down here in Atlanta, and no one threw anything. I filled out the form to get one of my songs officially copyrighted, and also signed up with BMI (it's free!), just to feel like I was taking steps to be "official." I like knowing I'm nearly 48 and haven't resigned myself to sitting down and mildewing. I still find things to get into.

I've also tried to get into voiceover forever, and this year I got put on the roster of a talent agency out of Cincinnati, my third overall. I haven't booked anything or made any money for them, to be honest, but to even get this far is a miracle. Tons of people never do. When I turn my toes up I'll know someone took a chance on me, and that's all I can ask.

So in 2019 I hope to just keep writing songs, maybe be discovered by Cartoon Network or Universal Pictures, simple things like that. More trips up to Nashville in the spring and summer to check out the scene, hopefully.

    2018, C-Ya!

It wasnt the best year I've ever had.

That being said, lots of people would love to have my problems.

    Happy New Year everyone!

I think i'm on ignore, but i honestly do wish you well with whatever health issues you might
    be facing.

I do not wish for anyone to not be well or suffer, in any way, especially over jabs in regards
    to a band.

    Get well, man.

2018?, well 2018 was great and it also sucked. Highlights, job has been great, sold my Marauder which I loved but replaced it with a 2015 50th Anniversary mustang, personal life was good.
But no matter how great the year, I lost my Dad this year, he was my best friend, Iím still working through that. Iím thankful for all the time I had with him, that I was able to hold his hand as he passed, and thankful for everything he ever taught me
Iím a better man because of him, and I will sober my life trying To be like him

2018 was my third year of survival with metastatic renal cell carcinoma to my right lung and diaphram. I'm a living miracle and there's others on here who are too. Some have not been. Stay focused and never give up like JimmyV said. Let's hope for a cure and a tour in 2019.
