Now that another rumor of Van Halen doing something that would have made their fan base extremely happy has been debunked (naturally by someone who isn't a current member of the band), what is everyone's opinion on the following alternate take two of song two from Van Halen II?

I’m a big fan of the alternate song takes.

The 2015 remasters would have been so much better if they included songs like this.

Similar to what Led Zep did with their most recent remastered albums.

Original, but I think the solo should've included one of Dave's "chi-ahs." Why? I'm not sure. Sounds cool and enhances the song. Just one though--don't wanna fuck with Eddie's harmonics.

Atrocious... I love the version on VH II, yet this, while neat to 'have', stinks. IMO.
Nothing to do with the backing vox or instruments. Not hard to see/hear why Templeman nixed this lead vocal performance.

I totally disagree. While the final version is superior, I dig this alternate take.

In fact I think the entire second verse is the real verse. I haven’t listened to it again but I think that’s what I got from it before.
