Default Interview with Mike from VHND

    http://www.vhnd.com/2018/11/30/whats...ncert-footage/

Great interview with Mike about unreleased concert footage. At about 4:20, Jeff asks Mike specifically about the 81 Oakland footage. Mike somewhat answers it then, but Jeff asks him again at about 7:30. Now I know why Jeff has always said that the 3 videos are all they filmed...he heard it straight from Mike. But it still baffles me that they would only record those 3 songs.

Mike can say only 3 songs were filmed its possible I guess but as much as we`ve studied those clips and the `79 clips over the years some of the shots don`t matchup to the audio . The third night in Oakland Ed and Dave wearing different stage attire so we know none of that stuff was used . You can see in So Those Is Love in some scenes Dave has the Oakland scarf on and in others he doesn't

Then of course at 2:25 after the guitar solo the Frankie appears for a second or two then back to the Circles guitar

You may think I`m being mean but I`m really just being sarcastic

I believe they probably filmed these three songs during both nights there so to use the best footage from those shoots in order to create the finished video, and that there were simply certain wardrobe and guitar discrepancies between the two nights.

Whatever the case, Mike's a class act.

Thanks for posting this. I really think everyone here would enjoy this interview! I believe it's the ONLY interview with a VH member that goes pretty deep into bootlegs and old concert footage. We talk about Oakland '81, New York '79, The Cap Center stuff, and more. Hope you enjoy.

Mike is as baffled as I am....

Between that and Eddie's comments that they didn't see any point in recording Dave era shows for release I don't think there really Is much, which is tragic. But getting the masters of the venue filmed shows we have and releasing those would be a massive improvement.

Pretty discouraging on one hand, but on the other there's not much point in fretting over what might be locked away. There's probably not much that's releasable.

After reading Dave's books, Sammy's book and Monk's book.....

I assume Mike really dosen't know all that much about VH.

It sounds silly....but it looks to me that Mike is a great human being that was always on the fringe of the band.

He was never respected and was never really included with the business part of the organization.

Yep, this an oldie but a goodie. I recommend listening to the ENTIRE interview.

I met Mike in the lobby at the Hard Rock in Vegas prior to a CF gig. Had a great short chat with him and his wife. He's not your prototypical rock star from the 70s-90s I've met those kinda guys too. There's no comparison.

I don't think he knew as quickly as a fan here would just by someone saying "Oakland 81".

They did loads of stuff through the years. Why would those words be some magical key for him?

He knew about it after it was pointed out which videos came from then.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

Any thoughts or insight, Jeff, on the recent posts & tweets by others that 'hint' 2019 might see Wolf, Ed, and Al hitting the road? Sorry if you addressed it elsewhere... I haven't gone through every thread or post.
