Interview with Mike from VHND
http://www.vhnd.com/2018/11/30/whats...ncert-footage/
Great interview with Mike about unreleased concert footage. At about 4:20, Jeff asks Mike specifically about the 81 Oakland footage. Mike somewhat answers it then, but Jeff asks him again at about 7:30. Now I know why Jeff has always said that the 3 videos are all they filmed...he heard it straight from Mike. But it still baffles me that they would only record those 3 songs.

Mike can say only 3 songs were filmed its possible I guess but as much as we`ve studied those clips and the `79 clips over the years some of the shots don`t matchup to the audio . The third night in Oakland Ed and Dave wearing different stage attire so we know none of that stuff was used . You can see in So Those Is Love in some scenes Dave has the Oakland scarf on and in others he doesn't
Then of course at 2:25 after the guitar solo the Frankie appears for a second or two then back to the Circles guitar
You may think I`m being mean but I`m really just being sarcastic

I believe they probably filmed these three songs during both nights there so to use the best footage from those shoots in order to create the finished video, and that there were simply certain wardrobe and guitar discrepancies between the two nights.
Whatever the case, Mike's a class act.

Thanks for posting this. I really think everyone here would enjoy this interview! I believe it's the ONLY interview with a VH member that goes pretty deep into bootlegs and old concert footage. We talk about Oakland '81, New York '79, The Cap Center stuff, and more. Hope you enjoy.

The two most important bands of my youth in the 80s---VH and Rush. I used to think I was born 10 years too late as I missed seeing all the big rock bands in the 70s (Zep, Pink Floyd, The Who, etc.)....
