Question Is There Any Hope Left For Seeing VH Live?

Hey guys, a brief introduction, I'm fifteen years old and became a VH fan a few months after the 2015 tour cycle wrapped up. I would do almost anything to be able to see the band live. Is there any chance that could ever happen or is this a lost cause? I've heard all the rumours but nothing seems to have come out of any of them. Should I still be hopeful or should I quit waiting for nothing to happen?

    Welcome aboard, man!!

Don't lose hope because you never know what can happen. For now, enjoy the music and YouTube video until it's showtime!

I think there's a fair chance they'll tour again, New album or anything else: Don't really see it happening, But I could see them doing a short tour in the future,

I was 15 when I discovered VH around 2003. At the time the band was defunct, silent, and lead singer-less. I thought they were done as I didn’t think either reunion would be possible at the time.

A few months later this place exploded with the ‘04 reunion and new songs. I felt so freakin’ lucky that within a few months of discovering this amazing band they got back together and toured.

Moral of the story: you never know what will happen. I hope, for your sake, they tour at least one more time.

I think they will tour again at some point. When? God only knows.

I think they’ll probably tour again if they do anything at all.

Do you own all the albums?

There’s a lot of great music on those.

There’s also a lot of great live videos on YouTube. More from the Hagar and Wolf eras but still a bunch.

    Enjoy

Welcome! I've felt your pain before. I became a fan around 2000 just after the horrible Gary Cherone experiment. There were rumors swirling constantly that they were reuniting with Dave but it always fell through. Between then and 2004 was just about the worst time to be a VH fan as it looked like nothing would ever happen. Then 2004 happened which was awesome at the time, but in retrospect the whole situation was a mess due to Eddie. When they reunited with Dave I was happy but was worried that Ed wasn't any better. By the time they finally reached St. Louis in 2008 the show was excellent as Eddie had gone through his Fountain of Youth treatment.

I think the lesson here is just when you think all hope is lost, VH surprises us with something unexpected. You would think we would get at least one more farewell tour before it's all said and done, but then again the band let their 40th Anniversary pass by without recognition, so you never know.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

Welcome aboard, and thankfully there are still young people with great taste in music. It does seem that they likely have one more tour in them, perhaps similar to the 2015 tour. One last funding of those retirement accounts. If one materializes it seems it would include the same members as the last few tours, without Michael Anthony. As other have mentioned, you just never know, and they run a tight ship with regard to rumors. The CIA could take lessons from them. I was 15 in 1978, and let me tell you that was a great time to see them. LOL

He's been "aboard" for two years now.

To your question...yeah, you'll see them. Might be a few more years but I think they'll tour again.

Your guess is as good as anyone else's. No other elite rock band that purports still to be functioning is so indifferent to maintaining a relationship with its fans as Van Halen. It can be frustrating and exasperating to be a passionate fan of a band that just doesn't care. I have come to expect nothing from them. I regularly listen to the music that we have and spend no time wondering whether we'll get anything else. That said, I think another tour with Hagar is theoretically possible but extremely unlikely due to the personality conflicts. I question whether another tour with Roth is even possible. Roth sounded pretty damn good in 2007--11 years ago. By 2013, he varied from passable to atrocious, as documented on "Tokyo Dome." Things were pretty much the same in 2015. As best as we know (and we really don't know much) Roth is now a smoker in his mid 60s. I doubt his vocal capabilities have improved in the past 3+ years. So, savor the albums, the LWAN DVD, and the YouTube videos, and don't waste time trying to solve a mystery for which we don't even have access to the clues.

This is awesome, nothing cooler for these acts past their expiration date than seeing teenagers digging them.
Yes you have hope to and will see them again onstage but till they walk out onstage nothing is a giving and treat everything as a precious commodity
