Pearl Jam instead of Velvet Revolver.

There was no band inductee there to be inducted anyway!

Yep. It still blows my mind that the only two guys who showed up weren't even in the band anymore.

Kudos to Sammy and Mike. Shame on Eddie, Alex and Dave.

Pantera would have been the band to do it! Dime and Vinnie would have done it right!

That wouldve been cool. Dime and Vinnie always considered themselves the heavy metal version of VH. Such a shame they are both gone.

    Velvet Revolver was an embarrassment.

Matched the band. Either say "fuck you" in an anti-establishment way, or embrace it and show up. Not have two guys give no response, one whine about not playing Jump and back out, and have two non-current members be the only ones to show up.

VH could fuck up a one car funeral procession.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

I heard Pantera covered Light Up the Sky I the studio once. I would love to hear that.

Anyways, Dime and Vinnie Paul would have been the best fit to induct VH since they were huge fans.

    I thought VH deserved better.

I could see Dime & Vinnie doing it, but Jann Wenner would recoil in horror.

Pearl Jam would be fine, mainly because they are legendary at this point & Mike
    is a huge fan.
I like the idea of a respected, 90's act, inducting the old school.

Metallica would have been great, too.

VR was just a mess, though.
It sounded like they learned the songs as they played them.

I always thought that Beck should have inducted them as a tongue-in-cheek nod to the MTV Music Awards debacle. He would have given a much more thoughtful and intelligent speech, and then he could have mock danced around behind them and pointed at the audience while the band members were talking. In a way, he had a part in one of the more infamous moments in VH history. It would have been apropos to have him induct. (If only the Rock Hall had any sense of humor at all.)

    Good call.

A good friend of mine that is about seven or eight years younger then me, is a yuuuge Pantera fan. We do this thing on Facebook, when something positive happen in our lives. We post:Van Halen! It's a nod to Dime and Vinnie when they would bump fist, and say, "Van Halen," before taking the stage.
