I thought this was interesting. Talked about here at the time I remember. Was it ever found out why that backing track got outta whack?

Back then, a guitar tech that Eddie fired posted that he was handed a guitar that was out of tune.

But it sounds like it's too high to me. I wouldn't put it past DLR to ask Fitz to play it a bit higher, since he thinks he can sing it that way and if he did, maybe that news didn't get to Eddie's guitar tech.

Something was definitely off, though. I was there and noticed it then.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

Something I noticed upon watching the video today, was that EVH was playing his main Wolfgang at the time, which would have been tuned a 1/2 step down for the non-keyboard tunes. On this tour, he normally played a Frankenstein replica on "Jump" that was tuned to standard pitch. Maybe there was an issue with the replica, and he was given the Wolfgang instead without it being re-tuned? That would be my guess.

07/08 was the best he sounded since 1988, by far.

I think this is the only example of this happening, though? At least that I've heard of/viewed.

Somebody heard it. I feel like the show should've been stopped and the issue addressed. Would've been fairer to the fans than to make them sit through it.

That was painful! It sounded like a few tunes from the '04 tour, although Eddie wasn't to blame this time...

A few lines from the song itself seemed to ring true, and kudos to Dave for going forward and trying to make the best of a bad situation! "Nothing gets me down", and "You've got to roll with the punches..." Having played live, as many of us have, I/we can attest to the fact that equippment failure is a pain in the ass! Can't even imagine how it must be at an upper tier level like this, under the scrutiny of countless people live & on the internet...

I read the other day that Ozzy played Mama I'm Comin' Home twice, last week, because he wasn't please with the ending the first time. I'm on the fence about this... I remember gigging and having to do certain songs more than once, not because of mistakes, yet due to latecomers & requests etc.

It’s one thing to mess a part up and have something out of tune the entire time I wouldn’t be above going to the microphone and saying “STOP.”

I would hate to have to sit through Ozzy singing anything twice these days. He's tuned everything down to sub-sonic levels.

Is Sub-Sonic levels those levels that make you wanna take a shit when those frequencies are hit? The dreaded, “Brown Tones”?

It's a funny one, My interpretation was that Eddie is tuned down a whole step instead of a half step, as visually it looks like D I think that he's playing in? It's sounding in C though instead of C#.

Not sure why they couldn't grab him another guitar with that many techs around?? or why eddie couldn't have at least adjusted somehow? even for the verses/chorus'? it's 3 chords!

Will hand it to dave on this tour though, sounds killer!
