It really affected me. I lost a friend I went to high school with in the tragedy. His mom called me a few days after and told me. She was torn so was the father. No words.

I don’t know about that. There is so much video coverage of it that it’s pretty hard not to be impacted by it no matter when you were born. When you watch two planes flying into two gigantic buildings and then they come down in the middle of New York City, I think anyone with a brain sees the significance.

I was dropping off my older daughter (who is now 27) at KinderCare when my wife called and told me about it. I couldn't believe it. Awful.

I was home sick. I rarely missed work, but I was too sick to go so I didn’t even get up. My wife and I were asleep. My mom calls kind of frantically over and over and I’m like what the hell is going on. She’s like turn on the news.

I went out to get the newspaper it was nice and sunny out and it was eerily quiet outside and all of a sudden my sister calls me and says a plane flew into one of the towers. Turned on the TV and could not believe what I was seeing. At the end of the day like every other American I was pretty pissed off it happened and incredibly sad for all the victims.

I know some of you on this fourm are not into Extreme or Nuno but one of my favorite 9/11 tribute songs is Ordinary Day:

WASHINGTON, Feb 1 (Reuters) - The Black Hawk helicopter that collided with a passenger jet in Washington on Wednesday was on a training flight along a route core to a seldom-discussed military mission to evacuate senior officials to safety in the event of an attack on the U.S., officials say.

The military mission, known as "continuity of government" and "continuity of operations," is meant to preserve the ability of the U.S. government to operate.

Regarding yesterday's Medevac jet crash... About 15 years ago, we transported my father-in-law from Tucson to Long Beach in one of those jets to rehab from major heart surgery near us. That kind of jet is pretty small and cramped and imo, scarier to fly in then a typical Cessna.

Geez, that looks so small. Yeah, that would be scary.

Japan Airlines plane strikes Delta plane's tail at Seattle-Tacoma airport

The right wing of a Japan Airlines plane struck the tail of a Delta Airlines plane Wednesday morning on the runway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, officials said.

The collision occurred around 10:40 a.m. while the planes were taxiing, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. Delta said its plane was being deiced when its tail was clipped.

    No injuries were reported.

At this point the order of responsibility for the DC crash:

    1. ATC
    2. Helicopter pilot
    3. RJ pilot

That being said, that airspace is way too congested with too little real estate for an airport with that many takeoffs and landings. Obviously when more information comes out this could change.

Can continue to play dodgeball, but the fault is still on the pilot of the Black Hawk.

To a limited extent yes. Bigger picture, even if the blackhawk was at the properly assigned altitude those two aircraft were way too close to each other. Just read that the Blackhawk had their ADS-B (enhanced transponder) turned off. This could of prevented them from being seen by the jets TCAS (traffic collision) system. My guess is that when all is said and done there will be multiple mistakes that caused this accident.
