Not exclusive but you have way more than your share.

Or just kill the person that does it quickly. Instead of housing them for 10-30 years, with appeals, capitol murder gets you the needle. Maybe make people think about their mortality before they pull a trigger.

Instead of worrying about the perps rights, worry about those dead. I have no objection to going medieval on someone for this.

But donít penalize the people who actually do color in the lines.

All it takes is one asshole. this is so sad. It's not the guns it's the assholes with the guns. Even if you take guns away from the assholes of this world they will just find some other way to cause terror to innocent people. You can pray for the good of people but there will always be some evil ones walking among us. Those poor innocent victims in Texas today, my prayers go out to them just so sad.

I don't particularly believe that anymore. You can't kill 19 kids with a knife. You can with a car. You can with an incendiary device. I suppose you can mass poison.

That shit is inconvenient and would be LESS frequent It takes brain power. Mental scum can't be bothered with that. We have a gazillion guns in this country. Legal and illegal. It's the weapon of choice for a reason.

Default Today's mass shooting is brought to you by.......

Thereís a criminologist Iíve quoted in this thread before, and he specifically tracks mass shootings. One thing he points out is there is precious little research on what is going on. And thatís because there no money allocated to doing so. Roughly just as many die in mass shootings per year as tornadoes and there is tons of money for researching those.

When we really distill down to the types of shootings we are talking about, hereóseveral dead (for criminologists and the FBI, 4 or more) in a public place, in a 24-hr period, not during the commission of another crime, itís really hard to put a finger on anything. But perhaps if we took a scientific approach, some things might come into focus. Allocating resources is a good step. Otherwise youíre blindly throwing darts at solutions.

I admittedly have bias on this. I believe the 2nd amendment clearly guarantees the same arms to the people that a government can have. With that possibly blinding me, I just havenít been able to find an angle where any sort of gun restrictions work that wouldnít run afoul of 2nd amendment precedent.

The fact that we arenít taking s hard look at these types of shootings seems insane to me, though.

I imagine it does. I just meant to show people use guns to defend themselves way more often than weíd think because we donít hear about it in the news.

At some point, ONE of these mass shootings should at the very least, cause us to WANT to try SOMETHING different. We CAN'T continue to be desensitized and indifferent. I would think 19 dead 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders would be the time.

In the wake of the horrifying school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday, CNN national security analyst Juliette Kayyem posited that the Biden administration should halt immigration enforcement in the area.

Kayyem formerly served as an Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security in the Obama administration.

Public execution of these killers with some torture first would be appropriate.

I think that time has come and gone, unfortunately. Newtown should have been the time. You say we can't continue to be desensitized but here we are. These shootings have become routine and the reactions equally so.

Instead of coming together and trying to fix the issue in some way, it becomes a partisan debate within hours. We didn't even have all the details yet and Laura Ingraham was attacking Biden and his speech last night (CNN was on a commercial). Parents were having to do DNA tests to help identify their kids who were brutally gunned down and unidentifiable, and the tv was already featuring mudslinging over the issue.

One side is afraid the other side is going to come for the guns and the other side doesn't know how to reasonably approach the subject...so both sides will remain at odds.

I'll probably sound crazy to many, but I just don't understand an 18 yr old being able to legally purchase 2 AR's on his birthday. I know it's Texas, but I'm sure there were social media posts that would have given people a clue about this scumbag and yet he's able to stroll in and get a couple of high-powered firearms.

We keep making cars safer with new features and regulations...Yeah, I brought up that analogy.
