One of VH's strengths is the creative and infectious introductions they put on most of their songs. My votes for the best intros in no specific order:

1) Dream is Over
2) Runnin' With the Devil
3) Poundcake
4) Everybody Wants Some

There are too many to list!

Excellent topic!!! Eddie is a legend in my mind when it comes to intros. They are almost better than the songs sometimes. Some of my favorites include (one off each album):

Atomic Punk
Women In Love
In A Simple Rhyme
Mean Street
Little Guitars
Girl Gone Bad
5150
Cabo Wabo
Poundcake
Aftershock
One I Want
Me Wise Magic

There are so many to choose from. It's being a kid in a candy store.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned Ed's most rip-ass intro ever: I'm The One! The first time I heard it (followed by the rest of the song), my reaction was simply this:

His all-time best round out like this, IMO (and in no particular order):
Atomic Punk
Women In Love
Fools
Romeo Delight
In A Simple Rhyme
Mean Street (goes without saying)
Dirty Movies
Little Guitars
Girl Gone Bad
Me Wise Magic

Summer Nights
Aftershock

Without You (I'm not really a big fan of the song as a whole, but that "scratching" effect he did on the intro WAS pretty cool)
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

You thought Ed and Sam meeting was a great "intro", yet your favorite VH album is 1984, and your favorite song is Hear About It Later?? hmmmm ...
