When OAN is listed in relevance on the Right above MSNBC and the LA Times relevance on the Left then you know there's a ridiculous bias imbalance to our national media.

I'd not even heard of OAN prior to a couple years ago. I don't even think they existed before that (maybe, but that just goes to show), and when I watched some OAN a while back out of curiosity it came off like they were broadcasting out of someone's basement studio.

There's like 3 or 4 relevant info outlets on the Right. I lose count looking at the Left.

When I had cable I used to watch C-SPAN quite a bit while working on the computer. They had some good history lectures and tours of national parks and of course politicians. I know I am horribly boring. LOL

Lmao, what a shocker, the left trying to portray the media as being split right down the middle.

They aren't, they are barely left of center. Probably about right.

how is that them showing it evenly split when they put almost twice as many on the left than on the right? Are all the big blank spots not on the right a clue to tell you that they're noting the media leans left?

I think he's saying that OAN isn't as relevant yet the chart shows them as an equal in impact to MSNBC and the LA Times. Kind of shows that the left has far more powerful forces in the press than the right does. Which is a surprise to approximately nobody. The issue of course is that outlets that used to be near the middle, like CNN for instance, have moved way over to the left. I don't know the history of Fox News well enough but I wonder if that happened to coincide with their rising popularity.

It should be noted that the source of this is right-winger and conspiracy theorist Sharyl Attkisson. Not saying she's entirely incorrect, but you could put her name squarely on the right side. Ironically.

And, unfortunately, depending on the definition of 'relevance' in this case, I'd put InfoWars a bit higher. I certainly don't think they are relevant in the traditional sense, but a LOT of people do.
There is no way that OAN is of equal relevance as FoxNews. At least, not yet.

Sad, that there aren't more that fall in the middle.

The thing that is missing from the graph which would make this far more relevant is the amount of distribution or ratings with the above.

The vast majority of content right of center is very hard to find if you happen to want to find it in traditional media. I have not even heard of about half of them let alone ever see them in print. OAN used to be on my Cable when I had AT&T so I know that and its production value is similar to Wayne's mothers basement. Obviously Forbes, FOX, NY Post, etc are known and yes FOX is very popular but there is a reason for that as well. Who do they compete with on the right center of this page? Really nobody.

Now you go to left center and I got MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, ESPN, BBC, NPR, CNBC< Reuters, etc all competing for the left or liberal viewership. This is why FOX does great. Newsmax? OAN? Please

Look at the magazine or digital content. You should be able to recognize all of them when you visit your grocery store. Go to Hudson News at the Air Port. Domination.

Then you have Social Media giants like FB and Twitter which does filter content based on their political agenda.

Yes this is a partial snapchat of what its like out there but in truth if you made one with ones footprint or hold on society, it would be far different.

Ah, didn't read it correctly. Thanks.

As for Fox News, not sure which one led to the other (CNN moving left, Fox moving right), or if they kind of did it at the same time.

I could certainly be wrong, but I always felt that CNN's move left was reactionary to Fox's move right. CNN's drastic shift was more recent in my memory than Fox moving right. Seems especially true in CNN's effort to compete in the primetime hours.

That sounds right. Don Lemon when he started was pretty up the middle. In last few years he's gone from reasonable and very watchable to someone i can't watch for 5 minutes.

I love where Rolling Stone sits on that list. Ha ha ha! for all their hot air during the Trump era.
