Just a quick edit. I checked redrocker.com and of the videos you listed, Top of the World, Amsterdam and Feels So Good are all there.

Those were all shot at the Whiskey, they are onstage, lip-synched videos. There is no audience present. As I recall, Eruption isn't all there, it just plays at the start when the VH logo comes onscreen and the members are named. I see the You Really Got Me clip on TV once in a while, but I hadn't seen the others until someone sent me a video with them all.

5.Loss Of Control
I've only seen this on the net, and the quality is shit to say the least. Hard to really see what is going on, but apparently the guys are all dressed in hospital scrubs.

6.(Oh)Pretty Woman (not the video that starts with intruder)
What other version is there??

7.Why Can't This Be Love?
I think the only video of that is direct from Live Without a Net.

8.Feel So Good
The guys are playing and stuff is floating past them. One of those blue screen type things you read about. I think this one may be up on redrocker.com.

9.Top Of The World
There's three versions of this video. I've only seen the one in its entirety. It's very similar to the Feels So Good video. Actually, I find both to be really lame and poorly done.

10.Amsterdam
Just the guys wandering around the city of Amsterdam in that one I believe.

11.Once
This one was done by Val's brother and only appeared online. I actually kind of liked it. Just backstage and live footage. I just looked and it's not online on VH.com anymore.

VH badly need to release this stuff. It's extremely lame that they released a video collection with a ton of stuff missing.

I have a video compilation with all of the Roth era ones listed plus a bunch more. The "Loss Of Control" video is totally shitty. The quality is just plain awful, it is very fuzzy. They aren't dressed in hospital scrubs either. They do however keep showing shots of a woman wearing a surgical mask. It looks like it might have been shot along with the other WACF songs on a European television show. I have the video of "And The Cradle Will Rock" on there as well. There are also some really cool live videos with the same quality as the Oakland Fair Warning tour videos from the '79 tour. They do "Bottum's Up", "Your No Good" and "Dance The Night Away". I'll see if I can track down the company that sells these video compilations and post it. They also sell Hagar era comps and Dave solo as well(I have it and it is killer).

I don't know about the L.A. area but I too own a DLR era compilation video. Include are:
1. "You Really Got Me" - Lip Sync (The Whiskey vid) Cheesy
2. "Dance the Night Away" - Live (shows the band arriving at the venue, a little "HELLO" harmony, and then the song) Good.
3. "Here About It Later, So This is Love, Unchained" - Live in Oakland '81. Awesome, especially "Unchained". I would love to have the entire concert footage. This footage makes the tape worth it's weight in gold.
4. "Pretty Woman" - lip sync (some European show) Cheesy again. DLR is not the best lip syncer.
5. "Pretty Woman" - rarely seen MTV clip. Each member impersonating a character. Michael - Samurai, Eddie - Gunslinger, Alex - Jungle Native, David - Napolean Character. Obviously a DLR concept video.
6. "Hot for Teacher, Panama, Jump" - MTV heavy rotation vids.
7. David Lee interview on "Late Night with David Letterman" circa 1985. Dave discussing his solo record and denying the band is breaking up.
8. "California Girls" - DLR MTV Video.

I watch the video specifically for the live DLR stuff. It's what everyone wants to see again. Keepin' the ol' fingers crossed.

Glenn, to answer your question about the other "(Oh)Pretty Woman" video there is another one. It is the band "lip sync" version. It is so early '80's. Alex is wearing a skinny neck tie. The band is just performing on a "Solid Gold" looking stage. That is also on the compilatiion that I have.

Cool, thanks!!

I do have the two videos (Cradle and You Really Got Me) from Euro television and Dave is looking campy to say the least. Big puffy leg warmer boot things. Everytime I watch that, my wife laughs at me.

Glad to know I'm not the only one whose wife is laughing at him while watching some of those videos almost as old as she is

That's the one I own too. Only DLR can get away with wearing that kind of outfit.

DLR must be the worst lip-syncher of all time!!! - and you just know he couldn't give a flying fuck about it - it looks great that way, cool as fuck.

He smartened up for the official promo's of course - but the European-only 'Nightlife' is a little dodgy!

I have a dub of a "Why Can't This be Love" video that was broadcast on Much Music shortly after 5150 was released. It's not an excerpt from Live Without a Net, although it is a live gig video. If I'm not mistaken, the video was shot in Japan. What I'd heard is the band didn't like it and it was pulled shortly after it's release. Later, Ed said in Guitar World that they didn't want to release videos for 5150 as they would inevitably be compared to the Dave-era productions which were obviously over-the-top and incredibly popular (i.e. he wanted them to be judged solely on the music at first).

The footage is professionally shot, but Sammy is very flat on a lot of his vocals. I remember thinking that he must really suck live when I first saw the video, and was pretty relieved when I saw him delivering the goods on LWAN.
