Didn't know where to put this, so I thought I would put this here, just for something good to think about.

When I was in Augsburg Germany recently, I came across a place and a story of the Fuggerei, or Fuggerei Village. This dude, Jakob Fugger, was a tradesman who in equivalent dollars, was worth $400 billion in the early 16h century, and he decided with his wealth to build a housing project...and it still is in existence today.

If memory serves there are 147 apartments available, and to be able to get one, you have to be from Augsburg (for at least two years), Catholic, and have a financial need. The current cost of living there is $0.88 Euros per month, plus you pay your own utilities, you have to pay another $0.88 per month for the village priest, and you are required to say three prayers a day, the Lord's Prayer, a Hail Mary, and the Nicene Creed.

Walking through there, I was just thinking of all the lives this guy changed over the last 500 years. Truly amazing, what a legacy.

Biden-Harris Admin Cancels 9/11 Plea Deal After Severe Backlash, Ousts Senior Official Who Offered It

The Biden-Harris Administration canceled a stunning plea deal that was signed this week with the terrorists who were responsible for the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States — and relieved the senior U.S. official who offered the deal.

Retired Brig. Gen. Susan K. Escallier, who was responsible for overseeing the war court case at Guantánamo Bay, was relieved from her position by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin after her team entered into pretrial agreements with 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ‘Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi.

The deal allowed the terrorists to escape the death penalty in-exchange for them pleading guilty to the murder of 2,976 people and serving sentences of at most life in prison.

By removing Escallier, Austin assumed authority over the case and immediately canceled the agreement, meaning the death penalty is back on the table, following days of public backlash against the Biden-Harris Administraiton.

“Effective immediately, in the exercise of my authority, I hereby withdraw from the three pretrial agreements that you signed on July 31, 2024,” Austin said.

Top U.S. lawmakers slammed the Biden-Harris Administration for the plea deal, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

McConnell said the plea deal was “a revolting abdication of the government’s responsibility to defend America and provide justice.”

“The Biden-Harris Administration’s weakness in the face of sworn enemies of the American people apparently knows no bounds,” McConnell said. “The only thing worse than negotiating with terrorists is negotiating with them after they are in custody. The families of their victims and the American people deserve real justice. In the same week that Israel eliminated some of Iran’s most trusted terrorist proxies, the Administration’s decision to spare these mass-murderers from the death penalty is an especially bitter pill.”

“Meanwhile, the Biden-Harris Administration still seeks to release other Guantanamo terrorists back into the world,” he concluded. “The Administration’s cowardice in the face of terror is a national disgrace.”

“23 years ago, America watched in horror as thousands of innocent Americans died,” he continued. “America mourned for weeks afterwards as first responders sifted through the ashes at Ground Zero, at the Pentagon, and at the crash site in Shanksville. For more than two decades, the families of those murdered by these terrorists have waited for justice. This plea deal is a slap in the face of those families. They deserved better from the Biden-Harris Administration.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said that the plea deal made it “a very, very good week, if you happen to be a terrorist.”

“If you happen to be someone who wants to murder Americans, this has been a phenomenal week because Joe Biden and Kamala Harris just gave a gift to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, they agreed to take the death penalty off the table and spare his life,” Cruz said. “It’s an absolute outrage. It’s an insult to the families of all of those who were murdered on 9/11.”

This was the right thing to do. That plead deal was an abomination. The worst insult to the families of 911. Their loved ones died, but we were gonna spare these pieces of shit?

Having said that, they look weak af. They were gonna let that deal go forward had it not been for the pressure. They knew this looked bad

Chelsea Clinton may be looking to follow in the footsteps of her mother and father and enter politics, with eyes set on an ambassadorship to the UK or France, according to a report.



Chelsea Clinton may be looking to follow in the footsteps of her mother and father and enter politics, with eyes set on an ambassadorship to the UK or France, according to a report.

The daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton has been “working on this idea for some time now,” a source close to the Clintons told The New York Post.

The former president and Secretary of State-turned-Democratic presidential candidate still carry significant sway within the party.

They were among the first high-profile Democrats to come out in support of Kamala Harris, following Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not be seeking re-election.

“Chelsea really wants to be the ambassador to the UK,” a Clinton source told The Post. “There’s a reason why Bill and Hillary came out in the first five minutes to support Kamala’s presidential bid — they were currying favor.”


According to the source, the former first daughter, 44, who is vice chair of the non-profit organization The Clinton Foundation, would also be open to the possibility of an ambassadorship in France.

Clinton has ties to the UK already, having earned both a Master of Philosophy degree in international relations and a doctorate degree at Oxford University in 2003 and 2014, respectively. Bill Clinton also attended the prestigious institution in 1968.

However, such high-profile positions typically go to those with more experience. Businesswoman Jane Hartley, 74, has been the ambassador to the UK since 2022, after former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg reportedly turned it down.

Hartley was also ambassador to France and Monaco during the Obama Administration and has been a major campaign fundraiser for the Democratic party, reportedly helping raise a half-million dollars for Obama.

According to The Post the family source acknowledged that the idea of Clinton taking the UK ambassadorship was “of course, fantasy land.”

A representative for Hillary Clinton dismissed the idea that they had rushed to endorse Harris to curry favor, saying that it had been for no other reason other than to defeat Donald Trump.

“Among stupid things said by clueless people, that’s pretty high up there,” the rep told The Post.

A spokesperson for Chelsea Clinton also denied the reports to The Independent.

In their statement backing Harris, the Clintons backed Biden’s decision to support Harris.

“We are honored to join the President in endorsing Vice President Harris and will do whatever we can to support her,” their statement read.

“We’ve lived through many ups and downs, but nothing has made us more worried for our country than the threat posed by a second Trump term… Now is the time to support Kamala Harris and fight with everything we’ve got to elect her. America’s future depends on it.”
