Achievements:

I watch the US bond yields daily. The 10 and 30 year are going up since fall. The short term bond yields seem to have bottomed out and have stayed there maybe fractionally lower. All the articles I read on this are split about how high it could go. With the amount of US debt now compared to 70s and 80s I don't think we can handle much inflation. CPI and PPI are up but not big. Now throw some gas on it with higher minimum wage? The Fed speak causes things to occur out of thin air too. But I am no expert just a pion.

People will just get laid off, get fewer hours, and be treated as contractor's, not employees, etc.
Or they will no longer put off automating due to cost if the rate of return now makes sense in comparison to higher minimum wage.
It's not going to have the impact they believe, or want. But, it panders to a vocal part of their base, so whether it will work on not is of little importance.

Making everyone a 1099 won't fly, but businesses that can will automate. Others will cut hours, make most employees part time to save on benefit costs.
Jacking up the minimum wage without removing benefits from your employer is a half measure, and won't accomplish what they want.

I know a lot of people who lost hours due to Obamacare. Same will happen with 15 dollar minimum wage. People will see hours reduced or simply they will be let go in favor of additional automation. Especially in this post Covid world where we have more end user interaction. Heck you know how many cleaning jobs are going to go away with the reduction of offices? Sure some are going to stick around but in tech companies like I work for, they have shut down or consolidated tons of offices already. Even though nobody is back at the office, we likely have shut down 25% of every office in the world. Forever. More coming. COVID proved we don't need to spend tons of money on recurring costs like utilities, cleaning, coffee, etc
In the long wrong, companies are out there to make money. First and foremost. They are not going to simply suck up 15 dollars without cutting back something. Now how much impact is the question but there was impact with Obamacare. There will be impact with this
